Impressive neg splitting Steve, I'm sure there is even more to shave off with flatter pacing  . ALso suggests to me that your 5k SB is a little soft!

Really must do less posting and actually get the erg out!

Great results here already.
Second attempt today, didn't have the guts to start my first rep in the same pace as my last one of the first try, but rep 2 and 3 were faster, and the first one was faster then the first two last time.
Bit complicated when reading it back, sorry...
Anyway, pleased with the result.

And there was me thinking this rowing lark was stressful on the muscles, not a workout for the mind too.

Some very good efforts posted so far =D> =D> =D>

Had a tentative go at this just to register an entry - lowered the DF(203) and rowed at a low spm to ensure the HR stayed down(don't fancy another defibrillator shock!!!).
Had a good warm-up(10 mins) and was feeling strong after a good morning row( 12k@r18 on df 250)
Tale of the tape :

1. 8:29.6 spm 21.0
2. 8:29.3 spm 21.0
3. 8:28.4 spm 21.0
Total : 25:27.3

I finally worked up the courage to do this CTC. 11 weeks post rib fractures it was a challenge and the longest I have rowed in over a year, but we floated another boat. I will not be reattempting this one!

Tough challenge this month - 3 x 2k will always be hard, but the 5' gives plenty of time for recovery so the chance to push a little harder... if you dare!

I had a go earlier in the month and had intended to do this a few times as its a useful training piece. But of course as usual I did too much running instead

So I sat down tonight for a second and final shot at this one (having chickened out of doing it first thing this morning). I'd initially intended to go out at last time's average (1:48.5) but found myself at 1:46.x and decided to hold onto it. The second was a challenge as I was worried about overdoing it ahead of the third, but at the same time I just had to negative split.

The final one was tough... stayed a little slower at 1:47.x for the first 1500m and then just gritted my teeth and grew a pair!!

Happy to finish with an overall time of 21:18.8, and some rather consistent splits: average 1:46.5 (1:46.8, 1:46.4, 1:46.2) :D

Had my go at this. Have managed to forget my password for the CTC & don`t seem to be able to change it!! Any hints??
Thought sub 1.54 could be on going by recent 3k/2.5k/2k session. Aimed to do first rep @ 1.54 & see how it went.

Great time Spider, probably shouldn't say a it will cost me a seat in boat 3, but you need to send a message to Citroen on the C2 Forum (PM or on competition board, link above in "links").

I had my go today as well. After an epic fail after 3 reps of 1500 in my "acclimatisation" session on Tuesday starting just below 1:58, thought I would target 1:59:

Time distnc Rate Pace - Comment
07:53.3 2,000 26 01:58.3 - More comfortable than expected, but 94% HRmax so about right
07:50.2 2,000 27 01:57.6 - Glad not the usual 4, struggling from 800m in, 97% HRmax
07:43.7 2,000 29 01:55.9 - Gave it everything, slowing to 1:58 at halfway, but lifted at 700 to go and again for last 150, slacking HR same as last
23:27.3 6000 27.3 1:57.3 - good night's sleep made the difference!

I didn't get around to doing the 3x2K with a rest period this month so I put in a straight 6K time that I did on the 10th of Feb in order to float another boat.

I hope that's not bending the rules too much!

Now I see that next month is a straight 6K #-o

Well done for getting another boat floated Sheena. I think putting in a score with no rests is fair enough =D> =D> and good practice for this month
