Re: January CTC - Mercian New Year pyramid
New attempt today. Standard goal, faster then the same rep of last time. Managed that except for the last one, went a bit too enthusiastic back and hurt my lower back, had to slow down a bit. Also the only rep in this pyramid which was slower then the first half.
My back still hurts quite a bit so this might possibly be the last one of the month. Wonder how it feels tomorrow.
@Wolfie: a new goal for you Pretty sure hyou can make it.

Great improvement Fred I hope the back heals up quickly
I finally plucked up the courage to try this one today though even before starting I was wondering when would be a reasonable point to bale out? As it was, I think I paced it just right because the pain didn't really kick in until halfway through the second 400m. Surprisingly pleased with the result... not convinced I'll be trying this one again
Result: 2500m, 8:07.6, 1:37.5, 36

53, 6'2" and trying to get back to 95kg post hip replacement. Looking back fondly on past achievements I've no chance of repeating

Very well done Fred, you are a big powerful man so those scores are there if your back stays strong.
0.4s overall very tempting, but I'll have to see if I can fit it in ...
Well done Mat
I should be able to nudge my friend James to have a go and push me out of boat 1.

Very nice job Kevin, and thank you. Saves me having another go tomorrow to try and pinch Fred's seat

Indeed it does Fred (might have been different if it meant a different boat # )
