You and me both :) - one thing I can say though is that Peter's CD collection is likely to be safe from me :D :D

I decided to follow suit and, assuming I’ve got the right song, I have heard of the band. They actually had a number one hit in the UK in the 1960s.

But it looks as if that song (which I would have recognised) was their only UK hit (apart from one other song that got to number 38).

I listened to Peter’s song on YouTube and I don’t remember ever hearing it before.

Sorry Paul, Paul, and Grahame, I have learned my lesson. :^o Now if I can remember it when posting again! ](*,)

Paul Victory wrote: Tue Nov 03, 2020 11:02 am Absolutely no idea. Is this another song that was a huge hit in the US and didn’t chart at all in the UK?

If so, I can’t really complain. After all, I put up a Eurovision Song Concert winner that I’m pretty sure was never released as a single in the US.
I had never heard of the Eurovision Song Concert before I saw the Will Farrell film, and then assumed it was made up.

Anyway, my song was covered by a British band (that I never heard of) and was used in many films and shows, so I thought (hoped) that someone over there knew it. We have not heard from the Underwoods, who often know songs that did not chart in the UK, or from Plummy, who thinks my songs too old. Ron is my only remaining US hope, for this song at least. Since I still have some hope for this country, I will post some positive lyrics, and then, come what may, give the name for those who have not yet googled it.

What do you see?
The sun is a'rising
Most definitely

Another day, and no responses.

It was Crystal Blue Persuasion by Tommy James and the Shondells.

This next one did chart in the UK, but not in the top ten; I hope that is good enough.

It is mostly true, but I really am already in, and just stay up late!

Peter, sorry man, the only lyrics I know from Crystal Blue Persuasion are "Crystal Blue Persuasion"... :)

Thanks, everyone, for the retirement wishes! So exciting! Paul, I'll never say never, but I'd have to fall in love with my rower for that to happen. I've had it for about 9 years, and it hasn't happened yet... :) I consider it a necessary evil to maintain fitness for the winter until I can go back outside. Yes, I'm a sissy, apparently... :)

Peter, no idea yet on your new lyrics.

Nice one, Peter!

Good work team!.

Yes, I was getting ready to post that "I hoped that you could help me Ron #-o [dah]", and some other lame hints, like "this is no fun, fun, fun", so thanks for saving me from that.

Glad to save you the embarrassment of floundering around like that! ;)

Searched the topic and was actually pretty surprised this one hadn't been used before. It's so appropriate to how I feel today that I was going to use it regardless, but hey, it's a nice bonus that this is its debut here:

It does seem like it's been years since it's been clear, but now,
HERE COMES THE JOE!

Sorry, I could not help it. I did not want the next turn, but Ann just came into the room after I wrote the above, and gave me another topical song, so I will actually name the tune!

Here comes the Sun by the
Beatles.

Thank you Peter. :)

Thinking about choices, for my turn ( and I promise this is a one off ) I have taken the liberty of doing things a little differently.

Two song titles: the first released earlier this year and the second, eight years ago.

I should have known
I'd leave alone

This is the end
Hold your breath and count to ten

There is a connection between the two songs.

You only have to name one of them, although by doing so, you might also be able to name the other.

The first one is - courtesy of my daughter - Billie Ellish - and she thinks is either called No Time to Die or is featured in that film.

So the link seems to be Bond?

You are both correct, =D> although Graham, Plummy is more ‘ corrector ‘ than you … by 27 minutes.

Spot on about the link and well done to your daughter for her accurate No Time To Die contribution. =D>

Heard this a couple of times recently. I can't see it having been used before and it was a hit in many countries (including the USA). We are in the late 70's to narrow it down...

In the 70's I thought it was all glam rock, heavy metal and disco (i.e. any tune you like so ling as it has a disco beat).

Mungo Jerry?

Not Mungo Jerry Graham.

I'd describe this band (further clue) as a one hit wonder to be honest - but this song has been used in more than one film (according to Wikipedia)

Boogie Nights, Anchorman 2 and also used in an episode of The Walking Dead (though not sure these will help)
