Re: Signature image generator - bug tracking and information
Not sure if it's me (again) but although I can see my new times/distances in the image generator, they are not transferring to the forum signature (I have refreshed the browser)
For reference, the written text in the signature is updating

I don't really understand plummy. Can you tell me what you expect to see, or, try putting an x in the bottom right hand corner for me?

Well, that's weird - as it has updated correctly now (this morning) with the numbers as they should be. Thanks anyway Thomas.

Re: Signature image generator - bug tracking and information
Dave, I had the problem today. If you don't want to wait until it has updated automatically, you can do the following: open the url http://tinyurl.com/fsrsigs/fssig-xxx.png in a new browser window. It will now show the old image. Refresh that site and it will show the new image. The sig should be updated also now. At least that worked in my case.

Re: Signature image generator - bug tracking and information
I updated my signature a while back with this year's SBs, but it's still showing my old SBs from last year. The signature is correct when I go into the signature generator, but it's not coming through on the forum.

Re: Signature image generator - bug tracking and information
Usually that's a caching/refresh problem. Right click on the image, do view image, then hit F5 to refresh. It might work differently on Mac...
Let me know if that helps.

It's updated now. Not sure what I did differently from before, but at least it's fixed now.

Re: Signature image generator - bug tracking and information
The problem is that if I change the name each time you update (which would remove this problem) then you'd have to change the signature text every time you updated.
The new image is so similar to the old one that I believe browsers assume it is the same and use the older cached image. I'm not sure what the solution is.

Re: Signature image generator - bug tracking and information
Hi Thomas, On the basis that the opening thread says I'm duty bound to report... I updated my signature with a new 100m PB but couldn't get the % to update. It didn't matter what format I used eg h:mm:ss.s or ss.s etc. Eventually I took out the low pull results from line 1 and input my 100m times in line 1 instead (they had been in line 2) and that worked. Not a problem as such just a little odd. And the drop down box was set correctly!

Re: Signature image generator - bug tracking and information
Hopefully, you'll get a chance to look at things when you get back Thomas. I updated my signature yesterday for this season's results, but it's still showing my old signature with last season's results.

Re: Signature image generator - bug tracking and information
That's usually a cache issue. If you're on Windows, try shift-f5 in your browser window. If on Mac/Linux I'm not sure. It should go away on time though. The only way to beat this was to give each image a unique name, but that would be a right pain because your need to change your signature reach time you updated your image.Paul Victory wrote:Hopefully, you'll get a chance to look at things when you get back Thomas. Re: Signature image generator - bug tracking and information
Thanks Thomas. It seems to have updated since the last time I logged in. Not sure what I did differently that caused it to update, but it may depend on whether I was accessing the site on my PC or my iPad.Thomas W-P wrote: ↑Fri Jun 08, 2018 10:23 pmThat's usually a cache issue. Re: Signature image generator - bug tracking and information
Can anyone recreate this issue? When I put in the two different 100m times it gives a percentage every time.MaxMacLaren1 wrote: ↑Fri Jun 08, 2018 1:44 pm Hi Thomas, On the basis that the opening thread says I'm duty bound to report... Max - does it do that every time on every PC or in another browser?

Re: Signature image generator - bug tracking and information
It works for me. The only time I have had trouble with this was when I mistakenly used a decimal point instead of a colon to separate minutes from seconds. But for 100m that isn't going to be the problem. You are typing in the time in the format xx.x aren't you Max?Thomas W-P wrote: ↑Sun Jun 10, 2018 8:07 pm Can anyone recreate this issue? Re: Signature image generator - bug tracking and information
The image generator is not working at the moment. Don't panic, all current signatures are safely squirrelled away.
I'm looking into it but suspect that it is down to the website move and some tying up of loose ends is necessary.
EDIT - I almost have it all working again except the menus are displaying in an odd way so it may take me a little more time. I can confirm the signatures are definitely all safe and sound.
EDIT 2 - On the basis that something is better than nothing, the page is now working, but the menus at the top of the page are all screwed up. Time to step back and think and/or wait for Thomas to point me in the right direction.

Re: Signature image generator - bug tracking and information
In trying to generate a new signature image, I am getting the above error code. Can you help, or is the problem at my end?
I've tried both Firefox and Chrome with the same result.
Thanks in advance,
Philip

Re: Signature image generator - bug tracking and information
The problem will be with the generator Philip. The code is very tricky and I always suspected that the upgrade to PHP might break it. It was completely broken a few weeks back and it looks like we are back in that state. I away for a few weeks so it may take some time before this gets fixed I'm afraid.

Having said that, it seems to be working for me - with the exception that the preview button doesn't update the table.JonT wrote: ↑Wed Jun 14, 2023 3:11 pm The problem will be with the generator Philip. Can someone else try it out and post here if it works or fails please?

Re: Signature image generator - bug tracking and information
Thanks for the speedy response Ian.
Philip - can you tell me exactly what you were trying to do? I'm pretty sure the issue is with the code on the server and not your browser. I can see from the error message that the code is trying to count something (probably the number of items in a table, when the table doesn't actually exist). The question is what are you doing differently to Ian and I to make it break like this?
