I think I'll go ahead in anticipation of plummy confirming that's correct. Here's an oldie (even older than Sailing).

You can almost taste the hot dogs and french fries they sell

For some reason, I was thinking about this song earlier today.

Under the Boardwalk, by the Drifters.

Looks like we will not be up on the roof or under the boardwalk soon.

We did get a delivery from the wine and liquor store today. \:D/

And Ann  reached 33 million meters. =D> ^O^

That was quick! Congratulations!

And special congratulations to Ann on reaching 33 million.

Thanks Paul. And Ann says thank you to you, too. :D

We have been thinking of another song lately, but I searched and it has already been used here. So, instead, another one by the same artist. (No, not really a clue, just some mental rambling.)

"the only explanation".

Nicely done, Peter. Your go!

Funny; I had a feeling given the genre and the age that this one would one of those "obvious to me, but stumper to others" kind of tune. Then you guess it in 5 minutes...

Link for those unfamiliar with this classic, but still apropos song:

No idea so far, but I'm wondering if you got your inspiration from the Dreadlock Holiday discussion a couple of pages back? A similar theme....

(I don't like reggae, no, no, I love it!)

Sorry Ron, not at all.

I was watching a late-night TV show last week, with a singer as the guest. I initially misremembered who sang the song on Sesame Street.

That's exactly what I thought! Don't know the song though. Or if I do, don't recognise it right now.

"I don't like you
But I love you
Seems that I'm always
Thinking of you
Though oh, oh, oh,
You treat me badly
I love you madly"

"I love you and, all I want you to do
Is just hold me, hold me, hold me, hold me
Tighter, tighter"

Lots more lyrics, since I was getting worried that it would take a Miracle for someone to name this.

Peter, thank you for the extra lyrics and the " Miracle " clue, :) although I should have recognised this a lot sooner. #-o

Congratulations Jill. =D> It's all yours now.

I was not too worried initially, #-o since the Beatles covered the song.

As I mentioned, Smokey Robinson sang the song on Sesame Street. I did not remember that he changed some the words for the show.

Some more clues - all of first verse:

Sometimes I get to feelin'
I was back in the old days, long ago
When we were kids, when we were young
Things seemed so perfect - you know

Famous British rock group - the lead singer sang this as his swansong. He died shortly afterwards.
