A whole verse from a huge 90's hit (UK and USA):

You've got the most unbelievable blue eyes I've ever seen
You've got me almost melting away
As we lay there under blue sky with pure white stars
Exotic sweetness a magical time
Say it, say it again

Good guess - but alas no.
Here's the whole first verse (I wouldn't have got in from this as a whole either) but concentrate on the first 2 words:

Feels like I'm standing in a timeless dream
Of light mists of pale amber rose
Feels like I'm lost in a deep cloud of heavenly scent
Touching, discovering you

I know there was a song called Feels Like I'm In Love a number of years back, but I think that was the 80s.

Not that (think that was Kelly Marie with a fairly dreadful early 80's pop song).
Next clues - British female artist. It was a hit in 15 countries peaking at No.5 in the UK and No.2 in the USA

I agree that the Kelly Marie song was pretty awful. No idea about your song, though.

OK - this one's a bust from getting it from the lyrics so I'll give up - it's: I love you, always forever by Donna Lewis

Going back in time and style, here's the three line lead up to the song title:

Oh no, not me
I never lost control
You're face to face

I'm pretty sure that's correct! So I'd go ahead and post another one, if I was you Jill.

Thank you Paul - this was one of those very rare occasions when I recognised the lyrics straight away.

Let's see how quickly ... or not, these lyrics are recognised.

I've wasted all my tears
Wasted all those years

Yep, we both recognize the lyrics, and can hear them being sung!

Oh, you probably also want the title. #-o

Well done Ann and Peter for getting the song, =D> if not the correct title. :-k Mmmm … methinks we have been here before … somewhat recently.

Very belated birthday wishes Peter - I don’t know how I managed to miss Ann’s post #-o - you will have to store them up and add them to next year’s birthday greetings.

I hope that your return to base was hassle free and in these surreal times, you keep holding on to each other.💘

Steve, you have nailed it, =D> although I suspect you may have had a little help from Ann and Peter.

I'll accept help from Ann and Peter any time at all. This was a solo effort though O:)
We have tickets to the next show, whenever that may be now.

It reminds me of Bad to Me by Billy J Kramer and the Dakotas, but I know that's not it. Problem is, I can't get that particular song out of my head when I look at those lyrics.

I had to come back to this one. I immediately was able to sing some follow-up lyrics in my head, but couldn't "name that tune". That's because it's one of those songs where the title is not in the lyrics... I believe it's -

If it's John Prine, I'm afraid I don't know any of his songs.
