Re: Name that tune
STRANGE, although the lead singer is buried in Paris, this song was apparently on the charts only in the US, Canada, and New Zealand.
Sorry PEOPLE, I didn't check before posting.

Re: Name that tune
You guys are correct. Wolfie was first.
I do not know why I am not getting notifications. I apologize for the day delay. We are sitting in the Newark airport now, and I will try to both get the notifications working and not grab the song choice again too soon.

Re: Name that tune
OK, done a little bit of research on this one.
Although we've had the band before, not the song. Charted high in both the UK and US.

Re: Name that tune
Sounds like the type of pretentious lyrics that U2 are so fond of. But the song doesn't ring any bells and it's probably not by U2 in any event.

Re: Name that tune
Steve, well done to Mrs.Smith - Elvis did sing the song although he didn't write it. The idea came to me for this tune after seeing something that Richard was wearing. Mmmm ...Wolfmiester wrote: ↑Mon Feb 17, 2020 5:48 pm by Wolfmiester » Mon Feb 17, 2020 6:48 pm

Re: Name that tune
Peter! As if I would associate with someone who wears Blue Suede Brothel Creepers. When it comes to shoes, Richard always knows his own mind … and only ever buys something stylish which I have chosen for him. If he picks out a pair that I consider unsuitable, he then gets the ‘ Look ‘ .

Re: Name that tune
Thanks Jill, but NO. I specifically did not name the tune, and thus, do not qualify for the next turn.
I do not want to choose a song no one can identify! (See my statement on Feb 13 that I would not claim the song choice again too soon.)
Thanks for the holiday wishes. Hopefully, we get to land on that British island possession - Tristan de Cuna.
ps: Maybe someone will still come up with the correct full song title.

Re: Name that tune
If you want to be let off the hook, I'll be happy to step in. I think the title of the song is Blue Suede Shoes. If I'm wrong, you can slander my name all over the place!

Re: Name that tune
Hook? What hook? I did not see any hook!!!
But, as far as I am concerned, Paul, you have the next choice.

As Peter has successfully, wriggled off the hook then it's over to the Karoake King:
Well, it's one for the money
Two for the show
Three to get ready
Now go, Paul, go
Paul, I hope that your back has been showing signs of improvement.
