Well done Guy, sub 1:30 pace is impressive. Interesting to see Tim Male has posted 1:32.9

Well that was harder than expected! Not so much in terms of aerobic fitness more a lack of power. Aimed for 1:36, 1:35, 1:34, then sub 1:30 for the last 2. Went out way too fast for the first 250 of the 500, then slowed right down to try and compensate which isn't ideal pacing. Also mucked up the 200m. So overall I've got to be pleased with 4:42.6, 1:34.2 pace.

Well done Max, that actually looks nicely paced in the picture
You inspired me to have another go, as I was curious to see if I could jump Tako temporarily
plan was to try for 1:36 and see if I could hold on.
500 - 1:36.1/35 felt that!
400 - 1:35.0/36 ooh
300 - 1:34.6/36 ouch, lactate already
200 - 1:32.2/41 keep going...
100 - 1:29.5/44
= 4:43.7 / 1:34.5
job done, and have wobbly legs

Well done Max and Wolfie!!!
No way I am going to even try to beat that in this heat and after 16 days break from the erg.
So now it is up to Felton or anyone else to kick me into boat 3. Wolfie, maybe you can get one of your guys to do they job for you

Due to colder weather and the fact that I did not feel save in the back of boat 2 behind Wolfie, I had another go and surprisingly managed to kick Claudius back in boat 2, with 4:39.8 @1:33.3
Hence my dearest apologies to all light weights being kicked done a boat.
This should help to improve my lead in the C2CTC season table, but the month ainβt over yet. But at least a spot in boat2 should be secured

Nice one Tako top effort.
I might have both my boys having a go today, so maybe one more seat in boat 1 under jeopardy (and my seat in boat 2 )

I'm pleasantly surprised the other James had a go.Wolfmiester wrote: βWed Jul 31, 2019 10:26 am I might have both my boys having a go today, so maybe one more seat in boat 1 under jeopardy (and my seat in boat 2 )
Expected him to be quicker, but his pacing is a little off
4:33.4 / 1:31.1 (first 500 was 1:29.9 ... )

I gave this a shot, but sprints 1k and below are not my forte, and for the past 2 months I have added 25k of bike commuting 5 days a week to my 21k of rowing, so at any given time my legs are pudding. Hoping for a better showing next month.
Cheers,
Colin
