I'm not particularly shy about encouraging people to use the rowing machines in the gym (with heavy emphasis on do as I say, not necessarily as I do).
Hopefully, a few will get engaged with the challenges and help float a few more boats in due course. I know I've found both the forum and the CTC incredibly helpful and supportive in improving

I had to leave my rower at our florida house and I have been focusing on my Triathlon training, but I will try to get to gym by this weekend in an attempt to enter a score for this month's CTC to float another boat. Haven't rowed in a month, so it isn't going to be fast, but I will try .

Thanks, Janet, for getting another boat on water
In the weekend did 20:52.4, and yesterday improved further to 20:41.0. Might have another go at this...

Liefcat, it wasn't pretty, that's for sure! Tackling that CTC after not rowing much at all for a couple of months was a challenge. Pace was all over the board and HR was through the roof, but I finished it .

Re: June ctc - 20 x 300m / 1'r
I've had a few dry runs of this one with fewer intervals so I had half a plan to try & stick to under 1:34/500 avg pace for each & see how things went. At least the first rep wasn't too bad Unusually for me, with heart rate too as I've reincarnated my old chest belt (mostly for some HRV playing about). 10 years ago my max was 183 so it might be that I've lost 17 bpm on that these days.
Anything that unpleasant must be brilliant training, surely ? Well done to everyone who has kept going through the 15th rep of utter despair.

It's fair to say our despair lasted quite a lot longer than yours! That is seriously fast .GuidonTheBee wrote: βTue Jun 18, 2019 1:42 pm Well done to everyone who has kept going through the 15th rep of utter despair.

Re: June ctc - 20 x 300m / 1'r
Finally decided to do this one. The only other option would have been this Sunday, but I didn't want to leave it to the last day.
I think I can be reasonably happy with the result: 22:47.0 @1:53.9. Pace was very uneven though.
It's just enough to get ahead of Jon & Jon for now, but as I'm still over 75 kg, it doesn't matter for the boat positions.
Steve, is James Hayter one your mates you were announcing?

Re: June ctc - 20 x 300m / 1'r
well done Rodger, great score.
Yes James is one of my mates. He actually screwed up, misread the instructions and did 20x1/1. But as every one of his reps were over 300 I added him at a slightly slower time. His fault, and it made him "ill", so no sympathy from me! Don't think we'll see the other entry this month (who's a bit quicker)...

Well, as his time keeps me out of boat 1 I feel a slight twitch to complain to the referee and say that the entry is invalid, but what the hack, we are only doing this for fun, right!
And with that effort 20 x 1km at an even faster pace he deserves it, that is to be in boat 1, I mean

Had another go at this, improved 28.49 to 26.59 and currently up a boat as well. Sorry Janet
Call me crazy but I like these sessions. Quite inconsistent though as I was aiming for 2.20 pace and as I was under that in early reps I just threw it all up and let it fall where it wanted. I think there might be more but poor planning didn't help. ONto the July CTC

When you throw down a challenge I foolishly go for it! Snuck back into boat ivy by the skin of my teeth. I will not be repeating this one...twice was enough!

Well done Janet , certainly no time for me to have a third go, not that I want to. Congratulations on boat 4. Onwards to July then. We appear to be quite closely matched over these shorter intervals. Stay challenged!
Re: June ctc - 20 x 300m / 1'r
Hi,
Finally managed to do CTC this morning , but have some technical problems. My ErgData app showing yesterday's date and wrong time and don't want to sync with Concept2 logbook - any idea why? See photo - I did it today at 8:49 Heeelp please
And just spotted - even the month is wrong Can I log it manually in log book? Is it going to count in CTC leaderboard?
Thx
Marta

Re: June ctc - 20 x 300m / 1'r
Ouch!
Had another couple of goes this week.
Determined to get under 1:40 average. Baled on the 13th interval a couple of days ago after going off too fast, so it was do or die this morning. Right up to the final interval I wasn't sure which of the two would be the outcome, but turned out I managed to "do" rather than "die"
Final result 19:58.1, averaging 1:39.3 R29
Really happy with that given the sporadic erging, and truly in awe at Guy's performance!!

Marta, you can do both manually, entering it in your logbook and in the ctc table. And yes, it will count towards the June challenge (if you do it today).
Thanks for floating another boat!

The last few months moving into a new house has kept me busy but finaly I have got some spare time to focus on the rowing again.
