Re: Anyone had any SEASON's bests recently?
Another 500m improvement from 2.08 to 2.07 . Original pace goal for this session was 2.13 taken from the last set of 500 intervals. While embedded in a set of intervals I did the last one from a stationary start. Faster than my best time I only set a week ago. This makes me more hungry to get it below 2, then I will be very excited. The combination of the beginner pete plan (week 11 so far) 5 days a week, walk/run 3 days and added in 3 strength days at the gym a couple of weeks ago, plus just 1 session with a rowing coach (this will be once a month) must all be adding up to something.

A further 5s of this seasons 2k this morning. 8:54.7 from 8.59.8 on the last interval from a 3 x 2000m session.
Working on that next goal of 8:30, might be held up a bit with some travel for work over the next 3 weeks.

Re: Anyone had any SEASON's bests recently?
Managed a fairly horrible 3.1s SB yesterday for 1k - down to 3:36.3. Had to back off with about 250 to go (insufficient warm up, crappy lungs, no air etc etc). Still 5s slower than I was only last year!

Re: Anyone had any SEASON's bests recently?
The Lightweights FB group challenge is 500m this month so I had a stab thinking I ought to be able to take a second or two off my previous seasons best ( 1:43.3 ) - managed a full 5 seconds and pulled it down to 1:38.3. Actually a decent haul of Nonathlon points as well (44 more) with a score of 910 for that event.

Well done Plummy. You’ve clearly hit some sprinting form, so time to turn to a 1k SB I reckonplummy wrote: ↑Sat Nov 09, 2019 3:38 pm The Lightweights FB group challenge is 500m this month so I had a stab thinking I ought to be able to take a second or two off my previous seasons best ( 1:43.3 ) - managed a full 5 seconds and pulled it down to 1:38.3. Re: Anyone had any SEASON's bests recently?
Well done Dave, five seconds off a 500m is massive! I agree with Jon that your 1k is looking a bit soft now And while you're at it, why not have a go at the 2k as well, with a percentage of 71.5% it would be an easy target for you now

Re: Anyone had any SEASON's bests recently?
I 100% agree that my 2k is as soft as a soft thing. It was only a marker really. Got to get over the mental demons to even consider pushing that to below 7:40 ( which you would think would be a breeze but we all know isn't as they mess with your head). Got a flu-bug thing yesterday so everything is on hold for now though.
