I have been bold and added a fractional weighting to the scores to avoid ties but not distort the core value (at the moment this is derived from the lifetime CTC total, but I'm very happy to hear thoughts about the preferred way).
Fractional weighting is the future! My recommendation is you bias it towards male, light, older rowers. Just sayin’

I suggest no one outside of that definition looks at any of the spreadsheet code  Joke - promise!

I like the idea of a bias but make it very old.

The three way tie continues at the top of the leaderboard between Felton, Tako and Max (tie broken by a CTC count back). We successfully floated 6 boats, and had 31 entrants.

Major movers in the board include Amber Pierce in her first entry of the year, who finished 7th overall in the female rankings.

Congratulations are due to:
Felton – 60th CTC ^O^ ^O^
Plummy – 160th CTC ^O^ ^O^ ^O^
Paul Gould – 100th CTC ^O^ ^O^ ^O^

Well done to everyone!

Thanks Ian! For the lifetime stats I did do some CTCs way back in the depths of time: Jul, Aug, Oct of 06, and Jan and Feb of 07.

Cheers,

For your delight, please see above the updated CTC leaderboard.

Tako and Max are now topping the ranks, with Tako assuming the lead on the basis of number of CTCs completed =D>

Congratulations to Steve Smith for completing his 150th CTC  ^O^

I must learn to look at ctc totals on last day of month for late entries so I can retry if knocked out of floating boat. Oh well...there is always another challenge :).

Janet, being knocked out of a boat at the eleventh hour and finding yourself back in harbour, is an occupational hazard with the CTC fun and games. :fswink:

As a ‘ newbie ‘ that was a gutsy effort on your part, especially as it wasn’t the most popular of CTCs.

Well done. :) =D> 👍

Thanks for the kind words, Jill! I did the ctc early on in month but chose not to redo it later because a) I knew I couldn't catch the next faster female (at the time) and b) I have been trying to train at a lower heart rate. Even if I don't float my goal is to do every ctc at least once. This month should allow for easy repeat attempts.

I'll pop this over on the current CTC thread as well, but in the finest traditions of a little knowledge being a dangerous (or at least unwise) thing I've put together a basic automatically updating spreadsheet for the Free Spirits results for the current CTC month.

It needs a few eyes on it to test (and indeed to say whether this is helpful), so please feel free to view. I can't tell if its my PC being sluggish or not, but the update on open takes a few seconds to process.

When I look at this I see Forum Flyers and Free Spirits Ian.

Seems like when I open it in Sheets, it behaves. From the link, we get problems. I shall see what's going on....

Cheers Jon.

The rank is not complete as some Free Spirits are missing that already had a go at it.

Well, it was a an idea with shades of good. It seems that the scripts function when you open the spreadsheet in Chrome via the Sheets app, but otherwise things go south. It will however make updating the leaderboard a bit easier.

Updated leaderboard as above.

There are numerous movers this month thanks to some very competitive rowing ^O^ ^O^ and a respectable showing from the team of 31 =D> =D> =D> =D>

Tako is now in the lead ahead of Felton, but Guy is making progress in third. Well done gents.

No milestones this month, but we have a new entrant in the person of Ben Cutler. Welcome to the CTC leaderboard

Ian, thanks for taking over this baton.

You have me on 65 lifetime CTCs. I think I'm on 72. It was 70 in the list I posted in January and I have done 2 since.

Also, you are bound to miss some challenges from Free Spirits who were not in the 'Club 50' if you are taking the lifetime numbers from the google doc only, because I only started that CTC leaderboard in 2013. I will see if I can update the 50+ list at a later date.

Many apologies Rodger - I think this is a user name split problem which I'd not spotted. I'll amend once I'm back with my PC.
