Thanks - I was humming that all afternoon (which was perversely restful!).

I know who that's by and the unlikely Hollywood A lister dancing in the video - but can't remember the title - argh!

You could have had extra points for saying Christopher Walkden, or indeed the film reference. Bang on Plummy.

As this was on the radio as I was reading the forum it made an easy choice:

You and I must make a pact
We must bring salvation back

I was going to post a clue this morning but no need now as you have got it (although it was The Jackson 5 - but it's "Name That Tune" not Name the artist).

Away above the chimney tops
That's where you will find me

Yes! And thanks for the grammar check  Much better.

Wizard of Oz was on after Thanksgiving football, which made me think of the song -- but I always found the Hawaiian version more compelling.

Thank you Barbara :) - the grammar check was unintentional - thought I would hedge my bets because when singing the lyrics in my head, I kept changing them around.

Thank you also for the link about the late Israel Kamakawi’ole. The human voice seems to be unique in the way it can take the same sound and interpret it in so many different ways.

Love and loss are the themes behind this song:

So lately, been wondering
Who will be there to take my place

More lyrics and clues:

So lately, been wondering
Who will be there to take my place
When I'm gone you'll need love
To light the shadows on your face

If I could then I would ...

American rock band formed in 1996

The song has featured in several films including Love Actually, Coyote Ugly and TV series Smallville

Mr Bee, award yourself some Nectar Points - Wherever You Will Go it is. :D =D> Although not required, the version that I know is by The Calling - it was their debut song.

Over to you.

Next (probably to easy, but I had cause to mention this to a young colleague this morning and got a horribly blank look):

Scatterlings and orphanages

I actually vaguely think I know this (or will when you tell us). The word "Scatterlings" is the one ringing the bell.

If it helps, the video was essentially a famous US comedian miming.

oh blimey, I thought that this morning as the words fit the tune, but a) I didn't recognise the words at all and b) we've had it recently (albeit with different words)
