Bavarian Indoor Rowing Cup 2018
Hello - I noticed a post from Concept2 DACH about purchasing a cheap competition ergo this week - and there is also one comp. in Deggendorf tomorrow - and what a coincidence - i am invited to a old friends birthdayparty tomorrow in Deggendorf -so i used the extended registration yesterday for this event- hope my right arm is ready tomorrow and could stand the 1k...it will definitely no pb...but it will my first official race since over 11 Years !
https://www.ruderverband.de/popup/calen ... utton=true sorry in German
unfortunately no other registrations for race no 30...yes i planing race no 30...not 29 if possible...hopefully not to much sweating before the race to get a bit lighter

Re: Bavarian Indoor Rowing Cup 2018
Hello,
right now after a great "bavarian forest" evening meal i could write some letters about my first real official indoor rowing race (had only 2 Club intern racings). I find out about that this indoor rowing cup is the first part of a winter series , starnberg´s30min the last of four on 9th February. Unfortunately i had in my race no 30: Age 40-49 (Agegroup of the year 2019) Lightweight, no opponents.. i had to started with heavyweights...everything all right- i was that for years till today ! I managed to start as lightweight and so I was the lonely winner in race 30. I finished 2nd out of 4 with 3:18min over 1k...nearly 10s slower than my pb 5 weeks ago. 2 reasons: the starving the past 4 days cost energy and substance: weight on Monday 76.8 kg. And of course my weakness in that Season: a approaching common cold..i know i jangle your nerves with that crying ! but had to paused for 10 days cause of that bizeps tendon - which worked fine for that race- couldnt complain about it. Maybe a go in February @ Starnberg...the other two events...dont know...whish i could do it- one is: 1,5k indoor rowing, than Biking ~7,4k, and again 1,5k indoor rowing, the 3rd is in munich rowing on the erg and laser Shooting...
Conclusion: really happy to made my comeback as a lightweight (after 23 years heavyweight) in Deggendorf - really like that place- so the starving was not in vain !
And...if there is no opponent in Bavaria or wherever...i was the winner of race No. 30 !

Well done Claudius. A win over nerves and physical adversity is a double win.
See you at Starnberg then maybe (I'm booked to go)

Excellent work Claudius ! And lightweight too - very well done sir. It's always a little added stress until you have your weight certified & I know all to well what you will have gone through.
But to be able to race as lwt (whether or not you had any opponents) and take 2nd place of the 4 including the heavyweights is a great result - very well done !

The funny thing is there wasnt any metall-medal- cause christmas is ahead they gave the 1st place a gingerbread-medal and a winner t-shirt - which both i received as the lonely one of race 30...MaxMacLaren1 wrote: ↑Sat Nov 24, 2018 8:34 pm Did you get a gold medal for your 1st place or a silver for 2nd place.
