September ctc - 2818m, standing start, free stroke rate

Post by Tako »

Wow, great time Guy. Boat I is now even in the top ten. Not sure when I saw that before, ten days before the end of the month! Impressive! Will be interesting to see where it ends. We still have some strong HWT’s that have not posted yet.

@Felton, I have decided to use your time as a marker for another attempt, but not sure when I will have the time to try it. The reason that I beat you the last two times was that you were out off shape! Great too see you back

well done Guy/s :fswink: and girls.

The little challenge between Peter and I continues, although I'm not sure how he feels but for me it's been a bit more intense this month :mrgreen:
It's taken me 4 further attempts to reach his latest marker, and today was the day. With a nice little neg split from 1:53 down
result = 10:25.6 / 1:51.0
You have another week Peter, and I fully expect you to find those 3 seconds 8)

Afternoon Steve,

you set a high target for me and after an abanonded try yesterday I tried again today. I had started out at a pace around 1:51 which turned out to be too fast and I finally gave up with 700m to go. So today I decided to go out a bit more conservatively, try to improve my score of 10:28.3 / 1:51.5 and if things went well towards the end I try to beat your score. Anyway, this is how it went:

With 1k to go I was down to a 1:51.4 pace so goal #1 seemed doable. Time to work on beating Steve‘s score :twisted: :fswink: With 700m to go I was past beyond yesterday‘s critical point when I blew up so I was pretty confident to finish this time. With 500m to I was sub 1:51 pace, a psychlogical boost, find three more tenths and you‘re past Steve :twisted: Finally I ended up with finding almost seven seconds and was able to sneak past Steve (and Fred). Thanks for the competition guys! :fswink:

As the month end is rapidly approaching I thought I'd better get a move on. My aim was to do a trial run today to get a feel for it but it went better than expected. So with 500m to go I started to gradually push on and ended rowing at sub 1:40 pace for the last few meters. Overall 9.55.6 @1:45.6. Over to you Tako :fssmile:

Last throw of the dice for me. Thought I could get close to 1.52 average (if not a little below).
As it turned out, a little below ImageImage

Thanks Dave.

It's fantastic to see boat 1 soaring high up the rankings and 8 boats afloat

Following a very structured (and tough) CrossFit program which doesn’t leave me much time or energy to row but don’t want to break my CTC participation streak.
