https - now live - is tapatalk working for you?

Post by Thomas W-P »

25th September 2018
I switched over, but tapatalk refuses to accept the change and keeps looking for the http site. I am going to switch off the forced https until that is resolved. I have put in a support request to tapatalk.

Later that day
Tapatalk seem to have sorted it out. We're back to https only. If Tapatalk isn't working try logging out and back in again. I didn't need to though.

------------------ OP -----------------------
The donations this year have spurred me in to action. I have made meterboard challenges easier to add and edit, fixed the Chile flag in the meterboard and thought I would take a look at moving the site to https*. When I last looked this incurred a cost, so I left it, but things have moved on. Apparently the site has worked with https since I moved to cloudflare a few years ago, but I didn't notice. The meterboard did NOT play well with https so I have been fixing that these last couple of days.

So... please could you test the site on https - you should see a little padlock next to the URL at the top of your browser. All you need to do is click this link:
https://www.freespiritsrowing.com/

I am pretty confident you will not notice any difference, and in the next few days, assuming all goes well, I will switch off the ability to access the site through http.

Cheers

Thomas

Hmm, realised I forgot the individual rower page on the meterboard. It looks OK though.

Seems to be working fine for me though it took a couple attempts to get it to actually go into Secure mode. Clicking the link and even copying and pasting into the browser after logging out wouldn't go Secure. Manually typing in the https:// finally got it to Padlock and stick. Not sure what that was all about... :)

Neither am I. I'm using Chrome on Windows 10. I forced myself to use Edge too and it isn't showing as a secure connection that either....then I shut it straight down again.

I had to re-type the Https at the lead of the address when following the link to get the secure site if that helps.

Same as some of the others here, clicking the link stayed unsecure. Typing https:// in front went to secure site. Using latest chrome build.

The direct click link still didn't work so I manually added the https:// in front and have saved that as my bookmark now - seems ok :-)

I also switched manually earlier and had good success. Clicking on some links in the forums went back to unencrypted but I assume that when you change the base URL it will resolve itself.

I had switched off the https whilst they got back to me. But Tapatalk appears to be working with https (I'm using it now) so I think (hope) we're sorted. I've turned https back on anyhow.
