Nice one Ian. A good rest and a dollop of belief and commitment and 7.5k is there for the taking.

Claudius / Ian, not sure whether you will see your 10k PBs as good preparaqtion for the June CTC or bad timing, but well done anyway. Good FM Tako & 30' from Ian as well, looking good so early in the season!

Re: Anyone had any PBs recently?
Thanks Iain and all others. Inspired by many FSs and the good feeling during the C2CTC I felt like improving my PB on the 500m (opposite end of the scale, after improving my PB for the FM already this month
Went from 1:30.7 down to 1:30.2

Re: Anyone had any PBs recently?
Today I managed (thanks to the C2CTC of May) to improve my 3rd PB this season
1000m in 3:13.7 @ 1:36.8
Looking forward to the next version of the meta-nonathlon as it will be my 3rd green one

Tako, Congratulations on your 500m and 1k PBs both in fantastic times. It would be interesting to see all your PBs in the signature image generator. It'll give me something to aim for
Only recently realised that I had a PB over 100m in mid May of 17.2s. Not exactly earth shattering but I guess they all count.

Apologies for duplicate posting, but to complement my 10k pb for the CTC I improved my 5km this morning. Getting there

I have to admit that I never figured out how to use that signature and while using Tapatalk app I never see the signatures anyway

Thanks Tako. An impressive list. Given you have PBs at both short and long distances I predict you'll do a clean sweep this season!

Re: Anyone had any PBs recently?
Thanks Max, Ian, and Fred for the encouragment!
Doing the checks on the nonathlon page I realize that a >8000 score is not realistic for me as even my really fast 1000m is too slow for that.
However, I can stil aim at an all green Meta-nonathlon, which means new PBs in all distances.
Until this morning I had 3 done (500m, 1000m, and FM) and now I can add the fourth one (6 more to go )
Today I managed to improve my PB on the 6000m by 2.1s down to 22:21.5
So well on route to improve the 10k later this month although I have to admit that the HD monsters came very close several times today!

Re: Anyone had any PBs recently?
Well done Tako. That's a hard earned 2.1s improvement but shows it's there if you really dig deep and want it enough.

Anyone had any PBs recently?
This is odd. Since the last PB I felt exhausted and tired.
Muscles aching and my hay fever (allergy) is at its top theses days....
Hence I only did meters while watching tv at low speed to defend a spot on the meterboard.
Today I felt even worse. After the kids were in bed I felt like getting on the couch.... beer....
Then I recalled a great motivating YouTube clip (the only thing to procrastinate is procrastinating; I can rest tomorrow) and felt come on, slow 5k to do 7k/day and watch my favourite series at the moment “bones”.
But once changed and on the erg I got the crazy idea to challenge my 2k Pb of 6:55.0 and after a warm up of 2k I found my speed playlist and programmed Rowpro. Pb as goal and current nonathlon time (6k Pb speed) as a minimum.
Well as I am posting on this thread it is no surprise that I pulled a 6:53.7 !!! 1.3s improvement!
Can’t remember having digged that deep and never had such a soar throat after a row, but damn this feels good!!!
So now a CD to teach 5k and a shower and the couch and beer anyway

Re: Anyone had any PBs recently?
I'll have to thank Tako for this one
After he threatened to overtake me in the Nonathlon I decided to go for a few easy points yesterday, trying to improve my 6k time to last year's SB. However with about 2k to go I noticed that the forecasted finish time was only a few seconds behind my PB, and with a bit of an end spurt I managed to improve my PB by a second or so. Another 10 points for the Nonathlon

Re: Anyone had any PBs recently?
Since it was mainly a CTC attempt I posted it there but I also want to post my first real PB for years here as well.
My 10k time in 2009 was 38:10.6. Today I managed to go sub 38. By exactly 1 second.
A tough but very satisfying start of the weekend!!

Re: Anyone had any PBs recently?
Thank you Plummy! 6k isn't a distance I have ever rowed but Dave gave me the idea to try one following my 5k PB last month. 21:45.8 @ 1:48.8 means 920 Nonathlon points and the current number 1 spot on the Concept2 (age 50-59) rankings. OK it won't last long but still nice for today

Congratulations Jan, Fred and Max!
Nice PBs!
Jan, you are welcome regarding the push
Fred, looks like I am not really in shape to beat that one this month. Still struggling with allergy & cold.
Max, #1 is impressive !!

Get well soon, Tako, next month's CTC will be tough as well when you're not completely fit.
