I can picture the scene, I think it's the opening scene in a relatively recent film that I saw, but I just can't place it.

As Graham has not been on the website since he posted the above clue on March 28th, I have taken the liberty of looking up the lines quoted.

Here are some more lines from the same film.

Stop right where you are! You know the score, pal. If you're not cop, you're little people.

That's the original Bladerunner I think (the scene when Deckard says he was quit when he walked in and is twice as quit now...?)

Could the film be The Bridge Over The River Kwai?

Thank you Plummy. It was the only war film that I could think of that featured whistling. My dad had been a Jap POW - made to work on the Burma Railway. He always said that the film was full of inaccuracies - only he didn't put it quite as politely as that.

Let's try this:

Why can't we just sit on this log, and look at the ugly old rock from here?

Another clue I think, although there was a clue in the first clue.

Yeah, well the way I look at it is; if the bloody cop, and the bloody Abbo tracker, and the bloody dog can't find them, well no one bloody can.

I knew the line straight away but couldn't place the film for a couple of mins. Is it the last line from The Rock (Nic Cage speaking the line after the info given to him from Sean Connery's character).

This shouldn't last long:

It did not last long until my guess, but it's been a long wait for a confirmation. In the absence of such official confirmation, and allowing for the big Plumb Birthday Celebrations, I have put up the next film.

A: I'll buy a cup if you buy a box of my delicious Girl Scout cookies. Do we have a deal?

Ok this might be a stumper... I'd not heard of this film until we stopped in at the place it is named for. It's a German film and quirky as can be -- we rented it when we got home.

"I mean she, she shows up outta nowhere without a car, without a map. She ain't got nothing but a suitcase filled with men's clothing. How come? How come she act so funny like she was gonna stay here forever? And with no clothes?! No! I don't like it! It don't make no sense at all! No, no, no, no, no! It don't make no sense!"

P.s. thanks Peter! Nice mom's day over here, no mimosas involved but brunch and lots of goods cheer.
