I'm considering having a go at setting a new PB for the full marathon at some point in the next few weeks. My current PB is 3:08:51.1 and I'd like to see if I could complete it in under 3 hours.
Congratulations on all the PBs and well done for channeling all the frustration you must have been feeling into something positive. =D> =D> =D> ^O^ ^O^ ^O^

A new personal best for the full marathon today with a time of 2:59:20.4 (an improvement of 9 minutes 30.7 seconds). I'm really pleased to have finished in under 3 hours. Feeling pretty knackered now :-)

HUGE improvement and huge congrats on the new PB. That's a very significant lump to take off.

Very well done Chris =D> =D>
I think you will be able to knock another 4 or 5 minutes off that in the near future.
I think I managed a 2:53 off a similar HM time to yours.

Thanks to everyone for the kind comments. The encouragement on here has definitely helped me keep focused on my rowing.

I don’t think I’ll be attempting the Marathon again any time soon. They are just so horrible. The last 15,000m is all about rowing through the pain.

I need to have a go at setting new PBs for the 5000m, 2000m, 1000m & 500m before the rowing season ends. I'm confident I can do the 5000m faster. However, I’m not much of a fan of the “Sprint” rows. I find them harder as I mostly row 15,000m and 10,000m. I guess I need to start some doing some interval training to improve my anaerobic fitness for the shorter rows. I would love to get my 2000m sub seven. I only need to go 8.4 seconds faster than my current PB. However, that feels like an eternity over that distance :-)

A little tenuous as I very rarely do these - but - I'm pretty sure that my 311m for 1min last night is a new PB.

I've been through my entire history and can only find one 1 min row with a higher total (315m) and that was part of a CTC multiple 1 min interval set so very likely to be on only 1 min rest and therefore a rolling start which makes a huge difference.

I'll take it!! :-)

I set a new PB for the 5,000m tonight with a time of 18:34.9. An improvement of 11.6 seconds. A little tough going after the Marathon I rowed on Saturday. I felt it a little in my legs but a PB is a PB.

Inspired by Felton and the 1402m for today’s C2CTC ( 4:43.6 @1:41.4) and the Meta-Nonathlon results, I thought I give the 1K a go.
Ended up with 24 points for the Nonathlon (added additional 25 by correcting my age) and a new PB of 3:15.8 @1:37.9 followed by a cool down to hit 2MM for the season

Tako, I don‘t want to be a spoilsport, but I‘m afraid that‘s against the nonathlon rules. Quote from the „rules and faq“ section: „Your Nonathlon Age for the 2018 season is your age on 1st May 2017“

And that makes sense, otherwise everybody would change their age once in the season (except people born on May 1st).

But a great PB nonetheless.

Not quite up to your speeds, but I just completed 10 miles (16.1k) in 1:13:53 and - annoyingly - i could have gone faster if i hadnt had a dawdle in the middle! Prev best was 1:17:30, so I'm feeling rather pleased with myself :)

Inspired by Peter I also improved the last remaining Ranking Distance PB in this season :-)

Hour of power = hour of pain

15132m @1:58.9 26spm

So my best season almost complete (my first), >7k a day, PB on all ranking distances, participated in all C2CTC and IRL, and completed all C2 challenges.

So now next season can only get worse :-) :-) :-)

Well done Tako that really is impressive! =D> =D> =D>

I saw Peter's hour of power and thought I'd give it a try in a bid to add some meters for the World Erg Challenge. Never having rowed for an hour I thought I'd start at a gentle 2.00 pacing and drop 1s each 10 minutes. Let's just say it was not as easy as it sounded!!! Stopped after 42 minutes as I realised there was no way I would make it  and my hip was also snapping. Talk about learning the hard way. #-o
