Playlist for 10k

Post by webberg »

Let's assume we're going to do 10k, steady pace, but preferably neg split per 1k.

So we need 10 x 4 minute songs with the beat gently increasing.

Suggestions for each slot?

1. Warming up, nothing too hard/fast
2. Getting into it, slightly quicker
3. In the flow
4. Feeling strong
5. coming up to half way and looking fine
6. still in the groove
7. time to push a bit
8. hold that pace
9. focus on technique
10. hanging on or pushing hard?
Uphill to the finish

I cannot get to the playlist from behind my corporate firewall but this one https://soundcloud.com/demoncloud/rowbeats-1 has a few good ones for erging. Once I get around it I will look, but I have in mind slots 7 and 8.

This is an old thread.

Personally I'm doing 30/40 minute pieces (and not threatening 10k) so perhaps a shorter playlist?

My first choice is:

Little Monster - Royal Blood

Next?
Uphill to the finish

Graham, I'm being a bit slow on the uptake here. :?  Should I also put up a suggestion for slot one, or take one of the other slots?

If the latter, then three:

Creed - One last Breath.

Ok, reading the original Post only now

Maybe Graham could give us his target SR for each part.

Target stroke rate or actual stroke rate?

I target around 23/24 at the outset and perhaps 27/28 towards the end.

In reality over 30 minutes, 23/24 is good but increases quite rapidly to around 28/29.

Let's be honest here guys, this is just music to enjoy.

Once we ahve a list I'll put it up on Spotify.
Uphill to the finish

I asked because most of the time the "formula" BPM of the song divided by 4 equals the SR, fits quite good for rowing

edit:
so that would be 40' at SR20

Coolio - Gangsta's Paradise 4:10
