Meterboard 2 - bugs and feature requests

Where should the web site go - what should we do? Who has the time between rows?

Probably recent update related and an easy fix. Checking...

Later: Yeah. Fixed.

Many dogs on the Meterboard, even for those who do not have a 100k in total. Does it need a refresh as C2 was adjusting the honour board constantly each week during the challenge?

Thanks. There was a minor error in the URL for the trawl. How it got so confused with the icons though, I don't know. Looks OK now?

Wasn't sure where to post this but the "look" of the icons to the left of the forum areas has change...in that they appear to have tripled in size. Is it just my machine or are others seeing this?

Fixed by a hard refresh - so something to do with the browser cache.

Hold down shift and click refresh button...

Not sure why, but all the meters from yesterday (Nov 5th) are missing from the Meterboard today. They were there yesterday and they are still in the C2 logbook.

Also the season meters on the meterboard are correct, if that helps solving this. It looks like the meters for November 5th are still there but invisible.

I don't understand the 5th November stuff at all. It seems to have switched to 4th after recent work by me. Go figure.

Hi Thomas,

It looks like you've changed the default view on the meterboard to only show forum followers. I think I prefer to see the full view regardless as to whether people are active on the forum. It's not too difficult to find the full view so if people prefer this restricted view then that's fine for me too.

Thanks
Sheena

I put two links at the top for easy switching.

Let's see what other people think too.

My opinion is not that great that the meterboard is dominated by people who have never interacted in the forum at all, and may not know it exists? I may be wrong, but my guess is that people on the forum who follow the meterboard will have put on their c2 ID in by now?

I thought I'd show the other option as it is a quiet feature that's been there for ages but not publicised and not well known.

I'm fully aware that I'm not active on the forum any more, so my mandate to make this change is tenuous. Also that people can have wildly different opinions (Brexit/Trump!) so I'll see what people say.

It does look odd having so many names missing but I agree with the sentiment Thomas. I think far more "team" members should be chipping with a bit of forum interactivity and support, even if only occasionally.

What are the requirements to become a „forum follower“?

Put your c2 ID in to your forum profile then visit the meterboard.

Did it, not working. Does it take some hours before it works?

It should work right away.
I'll look at it in a bit.

Later: Hmm, you have done everything right but I don't even see you in the meterboard. Working on it.

Even later: Hah! Worked out that you need to look at the full list, not the Forum Follower list or it won't add you!

I have changed the description for the Forum Follower for now, not sure how to fix it at the moment given the way I coded this thing.

I prefer the full list view to track myself against other's progress, but it is not a significant hassle to follow the link. I may just switch my bookmark to that page.

When I click on the Meterboard it doesn't list every person. It's displaying the people who are 3rd, 13th, 16th,17th, 20th and so on

Hi geewilikers - I suspect it is to do with the change that Thomas made regarding the "forum follower" default setting. You can change it back to the full meterboard by clicking the links at the top of the page:

I think I'm going to change it back when I get the time but I'll leave the links at the top.

I realised the position change arrows make no sense now and it's too time consuming to code it to work for both views.
