What does anyone make of this?

Huge aerobic engine. Great anaerobic capacity. Strong background in 4km pursuit.Has the frame to bulk up quite a bit (and has done from 69kg during ttf to over 80kg now).Could he possibly make it?

I'm sceptical, the change from boat to bike (like Hamish Bond) seems easier to me, and he is old as in "Greg Searle Old" who wrote a book about being old and reaching out again.
In the article, they write that British rowers do their Nationals in December, that would be really late for Europe, Google told me it's in late October, which is still late, but December?
Did UK Anti-Doping finished investigation on him? Couldn't find anything!

He could always claim another TUE(Therapeutic Use Exemption) so he can take his PED's "legally"".
I think rowing is doing just fine without the likes of him tainting the sport.

Putting aside any issues around whether or not he was 'clean', I see that he is aiming to get from a cycling weight of 69kg to a rowing weight of 100k! Why doesn't he just compete as a lightweight?

At the olymipics are only two LW boats left, IRC it is double sculls, one for Women and one for men.
100kg for 189cm is bit bulky for a rower.
Somehow this plan sounds like some sponsor spoof

At 69 kg he does not have any of the upper body strength required for rowing, and as Ralf points out, 100kg at 189cm is hardly ideal for rowing either.

Besides the physical issues, he has also showed in the TdF that he is not really suited to being part of a team where everyone has an equal status - he reneged on his promise to ride for Froome in 2013 the year after Froome handed him his TdF win on a plate

I got a Video about Wiggins' switch to rowing on FB today, there it also said that he is doing the nationals in December, so I checked the Race calender again. In December are the British Indoors! #-o

I can see him competing at BIRC, but in a boat? All the talk is about his erging prowess, but erg's don't float and there is much more to OtW than strength and fitness, Graham Benton didn't manage to make it into the Uk team despite having the strength and fitness and training with them for a few seasons. We will see...
55 year old Lwt (in ability and in weight) trying to develop a technique that doesn't cause hysterics and continue to row regularly.
