Did you know YouTube holds filmmaker competitions?

I was looking for something last week and I came across the requirements for Project: Direct 2007:

1. Somebody must hand a photo to someone else.
2. Someone must deal with an emotional issue beyond their level of maturity.
3. Someone must say, "I demand an explanation for these shenanigans".

That led me to one of the finalists for 2007 -- a Portuguese (?) short called Laços (6:43), which I felt was powerfully well produced. You might enjoy it... you might not.
