Any golf fans out there?

As a huge PH fan, I'm absolutely over the moon right now. :D :D :D He's up to no 3 in the World Rankings and it couldn't happen to a nicer guy.

He deserved it!

The second shot to 17 won it and was a truly truly great shot.

Funnily enough I dont play and confine my interest to the Masters , the Open and the Ryder Cup

Well done Padraig!!

Played superbly and seems a very nice guy - he seems to have speeded up his play in the past few years and is a better player for it - glad that Poulter got pipped and that Norman put up such a good show.
goes to show that you can still have a great tournament without Tiger - as dominant as he is I don't think he would have come close to Harrington.
Much rather watch gripping over-par golf than the 20 under stuff you see week in and week out on the 2 major tours - thank you British summer for helping to provide such a spectacle.

Watch out for Stenson in the US PGA next month!

Yep great weekend's golf. The best man definitely won (although I'm English I'm glad Poulter didn't win too Paul!)
Pity Norman couldn't follow it through, would have been one hell of a story.
Also a pity Birkdale charge so much to play. I'd love to play it but at something like £200 a round I think it will have to wait ...

Apart from being a natural spectator course, with the holes running between the dunes, Birkdale is a beautiful course to play. Played it as a 14 year old in 1963 - affordable then ! - long irons into the green 'held' as if they were wet, but putting was lightning fast.

As for PH, I agree that shor into 17 marked him out as the deserving winner - but I felt for Norman, impossible to hold the nerves together over 50. He just couldn't keep the ball on the straight and narow

Blimey, he's right up there with the best now Paul. Superb back 9 - again!
You've got to think Garcia has a mental problem in this situation, he was 1 shot in front with 4 to play again.

Pants.....My heart said Harrington but my money was on Garcia.

Should have saved the money and just enjoyed the back to back occasion.

As one of Padraig's biggest fans, I'm over the moon right now! I'm also a nervous wreck after watching four hours of golf this afternoon.

I was going to do some erging this afternoon, but couldn't drag myself away from the TV for long enough to get changed into my gear. Just had a couple of glasses of champagne to celebrate! (OK, the real reason the champagne was there is because it's my wedding anniversary today, but timing is everything!)
