Carole, I must warn you, the more you complain the more you'll get. It's as if the random numbers have a way of dealing with complaining people. I know this because I have 3 in a row, suddenly, after nothing for 4 or 5 days. Perhaps Graham is sitting at his monitor and laughing to himself right now, or it's just a matter or karma. Either way, don't tempt the gods, for they lay down a fury upon you like no one needs.Jessica-Red wrote:no balls at all for me rest of week?

Mr Barrick - the gods of random chance have decreed the order.
I'll admit to running the generator anew each time I need to call a ball but that's because my IT skills are muppet like enough to require it. Otherwise it's all honest and true. Trust me - I'm a banker!
JR, I'll make you the same offer as I made Tom. I'm happy to send you all 90 of the challenges for you to try in any order you like. You won't be able to score them until they're called but the practice might be useful?
Next quarter there are going to be changes. I'll reveal all later but suffice to say you'll be much busier.

Very impressive John.
There's a big difference between an interval piece and an uphill one. I find that the mental pressure going uphill is a real drag and has to be fought every metre of the way.
Don't forget that when you've done the 10th one, you can deduct 10 mins from your score. The rest of us when we go past 10 balls will not be able to do this.

Thanks webberg . I plan to do the 10th (2*750) on Friday lunchtime .
Completed 81 8*1K today . 28:05.7, 2:15:28.1 overall .
I could only use a 1:30 rest for time reasons .
81 was my 8th, I have 2 sprints left before the 10, one probably tonight and the final one on Friday .
(edit)
9th last night
36, 3*600m, 5:39.0
I decided to try high feet again, and it worked well I think . I was going at 30SPM . But my hands where high and quick enough 97% of the time . I videoed myself (but haven't looked at it yet), to check exactly what is happening to my hands .
Powerwise it was very promising, but as I'm sooo tired I don't have the capability to go full power and check if it still holds together then .
So my technique is going back to what I was doing at the BIRC, BUT with hands finishing midchest (20cm higher then before) and faster hands .
I think with hands height I can go up to the top of my chest, but I'm not sure that is optimal . My hands are getting faster also, which I'll need if I want my technique to hold at the sprint at the end when going at ~36SPM

My 6th ball today, and on time for once, due to the double-Monday slippage - 2x1300m in a none too great time of 9:36.0.
Still no energy from Tuesday... even my 5K warm-up had my HR up to 156 (compared to which the first 10K on Tuesday didn't even raise it to 130).
Only managed 10K in total today and possibly won't get a chance to erg again before Monday
(on the road almost all day tomorrow, trekking over to North Herts/South Cambs for an interview, and stopping off for a weekend in Oxford on the way back).

I'll be the first to hit my 10th ball tomorrow which will give me a 10 min reduction on time . But I don't know if that means I'm winning or not (11th out of 13) as it depends on what balls you get, and what balls other people have to get .ptruz wrote:Webberg....thanks for all your hard work so far......is anyone winning? On the keeping track of how many you have done you should add the number you currently have to your SPM, i.e. if 8 done add as 18 etc.

Keep going, Glynny, I think you're in first! And agreed with the SPM thing, just add it to the lowest number allowed already. Figure I'll get to that this week.johnglynn wrote:I'll be the first to hit my 10th ball tomorrow which will give me a 10 min reduction on time . TODAY IS FRIDAY
I was sure it was Thursday , I really need to catch up on my sleep
The plan was to do the 10th ball (2*750m) at lunch at Friday, but I've messed that up by doing a 30min recovery because it was Thursday .
I'll do this tonight but will only be able to post it on Monday (Just in case anyone completes there first 10 on Saturday / Sunday), mine will be done just not posted .

Ball 27 completed this evening - 2x750m and I added a 1m20s rest in for good measure
2:30.1 for the 1st and 2:28.6 for the 2nd gave - 4:58.7 in total
I have now completed all my 6 balls drawn in 1:19:41.5
I expect Mr Glynn will beat this time with ease whenever he does it.

Yeah. Bootcamp. It's one of those military-style fitness programs. 5 days a week, 6am. Some days are better than others, as with everything I suppose. Today's workout really put me down. Lots and lots of weighted walking lunges and squats w/ military presses. Ugh.bootcamp?
Cheers,
Kris

Thanks for that. No cammo. And bulging muscles? Well, maybe not. Bulging eyes more like it. I think I could have used the bullet belts for the trainer... Oh but then I'd have to have the weapon as well. I don't think just tossing bullets at him manually would have much impact.webberg wrote:Kris, am I seeing bulging muscle, camo paint, bullet belts, etc?
Or is it that I'm working too late?
Cheers,
