How to enter results...

Post by Thomas W-P »

Please enter your distances in this format:

Hour you completed: nn
Metres this hour: nn,nnn m
Running total: nnn,nnn m
(Av. metres per hour: nn,nnn m)

If you don't have a calculator handy, please put in at least the top two!

Hopefully Big Dave K will manage to post some distances from his three teams to this thread too.

This is very last minute, I know, but.....

If someone is willing copy the results from this thread into the
Relay Schedule, then the results will be tallied and graphed here.

Update: added a little bit of protection against inadverdent changes. If an result already exists, it must be erased first by changing it to "--" (two dashes), and saving the entry, then a new result may be entered.

Go Row!

16025m. Ow ow ow ow ow ow ow ow ow ow ow ow ow ow ow ow ow ow ow ow ow ow ow ow ow ow ow ow ow ow ow ow ow ow ow ow ow ow ow ow ow ow ow ow ow

Think i'm gonna be sick...

(next!)

The story: Didn't get time to warm up so went straight off. Not planning to try PB'ing as my back had been sore since IIRC (and the 100m race with JG - I lost!) Set the pace boat to 1:56. Set off, and surprised the back wasn't hurting. Started holding 1:52 and felt STRONG. Held on well for 20 mins, but HR was up to high 170's already, and mid back starting to ache. Carried on for ~8040m at 30 mins, but then pulse hit 180, back started to really hurt so backed off for a minute. Split didn't go too far, so got back on it and aimed for 40min PB. Think I got it, but back sore again so backed out again. Again, got breath back and got back on again - need all the team meters I can get. Aiming now for 45min PB (not certain what either of these are, will check and see if I did get them - looks like I did, just!) Backed down again after 45mins, took 2 mins to get going again. Then pulling 1:56s for a bit. 11 mins out, realised I would probably make the end, HR was 180 still, and thought if I could put in a famous sprint at the end could still make 16k. Started pulling it back in at 1:51s all the way. Hit 2 mins out, HR 185, and still behind target, but only just. Progressive wind up into mid/high 1:40s to 50 seconds out and stil down. Now went for the burn. down to 1:40, but starting to blow. 20 seconds out - ALL OUT. rating high and pulling 1:30s. 5-4-3-2-1. Haze clears. PM2 reads .... 16025m. Made it. PB by 20m. What a start.

Don't feel too good now, but have held onto my stomach. My head hurts. Off to get some painkillers...

Over to whoever is next...

Stan - think T W-P did it for me. Had a lovely time with the mini W-Ps and Tamsin, thanks Thomas. Been sneezed on, drooled on, almost puked on, trodden on, sat on, and generally abused. Obviously good preparation. Tell Elizabeth that the 'magik snowman' she drew for me brought me luck....

Full story of the row now added above....

Amendment to the running order: Paul Victory is now taking the Friday 2pm slot from me. Good to have you on board for this venture Paul. (jlemon - can you amend the totalling pages to reflect this. Also, suspect there will be more tweaks to the running order during the week, so apologies in advance)

Not going to post an essay like Mike (oh well, go on then), but just to say - the feeling of rowing as part of a team is a great motivator.

I knew I had it in me for a new SB (15184m+), and that this first one of my legs was the best chance for it, despite the time of day, so I went for it from the off - rating 1:57/1:58 with 10 fast (1:50/1:51) strokes every 2 min. Rate tailed off a little in the 4th 12 min split, but pulled it back with a quick last 2min sprint.

I've never puked from erging, but tonight was close... really close.

Total: 15,518m (SB by 335m , PB by 195m   )

Including within it, new PBs for:

30': 7784m (+151m!)
10k: 38:33 (-23s!)

:D :D :D :D :D

Hours completed: 2
Metres this hour: 15,518 m
Running total: 31,543 m
Av. metres per hour: 15,771 m

Running total: 31,543 m
Av. metres per hour: 15,771 m

Based on the splits, I must have been within a second or less of my 6k PB as well (though I wasn't looking at the distance when that came up) and was about 4s outside by 5k PB - plenty of room for improvement in those as well it seems!

Guys this is great! The relay-schedule is impressive, how can anyone figure stuff like that out?
I fear that I'll pull down the average. I'll be more than the magical 13.8 km/h, but I'll row so I can sit for a little more effort tomorrow.

Good job, Mike and Max!

I put Paul in for the 66th hour.

I also couldn't resist adding some over/under (ahead/behind?) figures to the tally as well.

Where's Gooner Neil? Hope he hasn't put that shoulder out again trying for too big a distance and been carted off to hospital.

I m guessing he did not spot that early one of Janet's. Ah well, dropped baton on the third leg. We'll just have to pull harder - or get someone else to fill it in.

Bartman? Zak? Want to slip in a crafty 16,000m?

We will still be fine. I'm sure between a couple of FS one can suck up one member of the team. Hope he's ok! May be he;s just not rowing a home, and needs a little to get back...
Good luck, Rita and everyone else! Good morning, Iron Ar$e, may you have buns of steel!

Hours completed: 3
Metres this hour: 13,255 m
Running total: 44,798 m
Av. metres per hour: 14,933 m

Target: m
Actual: m
Difference: m

I added my times to JL's relay board, and added my times to mike's post. however, my 60 min PB has deprived my of some O2, so i'm not sure what to do with the target, actual and difference.

I wasn't planning on going for the PB tonight; i'm only got 4 hrs of sleep last night. but after 20 min, I figured it was do-able and went for it.

14867m. None of the heroics of Mike and Max but quite pleased as I managed only four hours sleep as youngest boy ill. Best of luck to everyone - I'm off top catch a plane to Stockholm!
