Great news Spamuel... wouldn't worry too much about the distance - despite Mr.Webber's post, not everyone has felt up to getting a PB... keeping the whole thing going and getting those metres on the board is what counts.

I've updated the relay results page with your distance as well - now just missing Orangerider's...

And with Wolfie's 15k, we're now well on track - a little past halfway, and just over 1 hr ahead of schedule! 8)

Keep it going, Free Spirits!

Doh! Got it wrong again!

Roger Bangay PB is over 15k (15092) actually so not a PB (yet) although I think he is on the track as I write.

List is

Mike Channin 16025 +25
MaxDev 15518 +195 (plus 30' and 10k)
Rita (Lovely Rita, Erging Metre lady) 13255
Jainser 16117
Nick Shuker 16282 +21
Redshell 14444
Stan 14704 +30
Thomas WP 15643 +500
Tom Barrick 16378
Wolfie 15018 +858

Apologies Roger.

Sam has now put his distance up and we are therefore missing just the one. I suggest that MaxDev's position is correct and that we should not substitute.

I also have a cunning plan in mind for next quarter's ELM, based on this event - but I won't spoil it for you.

For Thomas W-P, "kama-kazi" literally means "divine wind"

Was this helping you spin that flywheel?

great effort anyway.

just got up and had the chance to read through everyone's posts. it's going well guys. i think you'll be in with a shout of beating our efforts as we came in with a 2:06.1 average in the end. we decided to slow down after a couple of guys actually passed out (both were ok soon after, but was a bit worrying), and we didn't want to risk anything else like that once we knew we could make the million.

forgot to mention, the computer running the race software crashed on 22 hours, and then the erg screens did the same when we tried to load it back up again. fortunately we wrote down the metres before it all went, and then reset the monitors for the time left and rowed on.

Sam and MaxDev, I have started tracking the PB's just because it was mentioned in the thread and I thought it might be easier to collate as we went on rather than trawl the thread later.

Sorry guys - it was not meant to be anything other than a bit iof housekeeping

Like most here, I have certainly not PB'd and in fact struggled to get over 14k. I suspect that my session tonight will be equally painful as my legs are very sore for some reason.

Apologies if anybody finds the list a de-motivator. I'll move it elsewhere.

Roger has just reported in with 14510m for today. I've updated the board, although it doesn't seem to have come through properly yet. (Will leave it a few minutes, check again, and pm jl if still have a problem).

Well done to Big Dave K and his amazing collapsing rowers. A fantastic achievement. Was certainly thinking of you boys when I was doing the lead off leg, knowing you'd all be sprinting your guts out over at Brunel...

And then this:
For Thomas W-P, "kama-kazi" literally means "divine wind"

Was this helping you spin that flywheel?
This sounds more like Pete/Shrek to me, given his other wind related posts. And is this the secret of how he 'powered' to that new 60 min PB...?

Oh, and Dave, you don't fancy doing a leg for us do you?? I think I've successfully given all mine away now after this afternoon's effort, but I'm sure there are some tired legs/arms/ar$e$ out there that would love to hand over a slot for you (Boris probably for one after his epic FM last night!)

Graham - keep the list - it is a very strong MOTIVATOR for some of us. We all know that we don't have to PB, but then we rarely get as much incentive as this when doing the longer stuff like 60mins. Well done for collating it. Great job.

Mine was a PB. But only on the basis that I've never done a one hour piece before so a PB was more than likely.

It also featured my 1,000,000th metre.

Don't think there was any whinging... just pointing out that (impressive though it is, and a sure sign of the motivation) it's not all about the PBs - it's about getting that million up as a team.

But I like the list too (and the fact that I appear on it, though I'm not going to get anywhere near that distance again in my remaining sessions) - keep it Graham.

Don't really want to hear of any FSers passing out through trying to reach a PB like some of Big Dave K's lot did.

Don't mind a few FS'ers falling over due to the celebratory beers afterwards though. 8)

Still waiting for any indication from Marcus OrangeRider... Worst case we can legitimately use Thomas' cool down meters at the very least.

Had a good look at 2 hour possibilities. Have been eying Big John's 30k in 1:57.9 for a while now, so will be aiming at that.

Have also figured out that having done ~30750m in 2 hours, might as well carry on for a FM (provided I can still row!) and there is the small matter that Boris has just eclipsed my FM SPB...

So don't worry if I'm a little late posting the meters from my 2 hour session. I'm just hurting myself a bit more for good measure...

('Go knit a sweater' - another priceless Shrekism!)

Sorry forgot to mention -

Well done to everyone so far PB or not, fantastic team effort all helps get us to the moon and put some metres on the holiday challenge.

Also, regarding Thomas and his typing whilst rowing - I don't believe it and I reckon he's designed, built and is prototyping a mind control rowing helmet much like in the film "Firefox" except for concept2 machines and not MIG's.

Come on Clint!
