Judging from the website, this looks as much a festival as a sporting event. Nice!
Best of luck to all three of you!

Good luck to all three of you. I've been getting pipped on the meterboard by Colette recently so I know she's been putting in the training metres.

Looking forward to the write-ups

Firstly, some very sad news. Collette told me today that Clare can’t compete at the Games because she has had to leave for the UK
because her mother, Gillian, has not long to live. This news knocked me sideways - a great shock.

However, the show goes on. Today Collette rowed 4:07.9 for the 1000m. in the 50-54 (Para) category and 1:57.4 in the 500m.
She was the only competitor in that category.

I had two SB’s: 1:51.4 in the 500m. and 4:01.9 in the 1000m. These results gave me 2 Golds.

Tomorrow, the final events are the 2k and the 100m. I’ll keep you posted about the results.

Today Collette won two more Golds in her category doing a time of 8:27.5 in the 2K and 21.1 secs in the 100m.

I followed her example with a Gold in the 2K at 8:36.5 (an SB) and a Gold in the 100m. at 20.8
I rowed in the 83-85 category.

On the first of the two days the Rowing took place at the same time as the Boxing in the same hall and as the Rowing organisers didn’t have a microphone, the situation was far from ideal for us. However, today the Boxing events were over and towards the end of proceedings we even had the luxury of a microphone.

The Rowing events were successful in that they created good camaraderie. We met some old friends and have made some new ones.
And in the end, that’s what really matters.

Well done, excellent work. =D> =D> =D> Is that a brace of medals?

Are you both going in the AIRC on 27th October? I'm going to watch the Brisbane event as I'm too slow YET.

Congratulations

Lesley

Hi Lesley
Thank you for your comments.
I won’t be going to the AIRC event as I shall be on the bowling green playing for Torquay Bowls Club.
And, by the way, you’re not too slow by any means. From what I’ve seen you’re coming up fast. Well done indeed!
