Scottish Indoor Champs Results
So, just back from the 1k race - which both Guy and I took part in. A hard fought race, guy was chasing me the whole time, with a spurt near the end - but I managed to hold him off and it was gold and silver for Free Spirits!
Me: 3:09.7
Guy: 3:10.9
Close!!!
Guy still has the 500m to go. But I'm now sitting with a burger in hand, so hopefully he'll fill us in.
Roger and Gillian Burrell were there too, and I had a good chat with Roger. Great to meet another Free Spirit!!!

Tremendous results and racing guys. Congrats on the medals too.
Do you have a link to a full set of results? - I need to update the Hall of Fame (guilty of not looking at it for a while )

Hey,
They're not great at updating the website sadly! Once I get a link, I'll post it here.

Re: Scottish Indoor Champs Results
Does anyone know if a list of Scottish indoor rowing records exists?

Re: Scottish Indoor Champs Results
Yes, I saw this. Are these records from rowers competing at the SIRC? Is there a different list of indoor rowing records set by eligible Scots at any competition?Recess wrote:This is the page with the Championship records:

Re: Scottish Indoor Champs Results
Yeah, just the Championship records. So do you mean any competition in the world where a Scot has the record, but not the World record?
I doubt it... I guess you could go through all of the competitions, and look at their Champ. records - and work out who (if any) were Scottish, but my guess would be not many!
Or is this still not what you're looking for?

Re: Scottish Indoor Champs Results
I know it probably doesn't exist but what I'm looking for is the equivalent of this: http://www.scotstats.net/records/outdoo ... /national/ but for Scottish indoor rowing, preferably with age group records as well

Re: Scottish Indoor Champs Results
Ah. I get you now. I guess the only people that would have all that info even vaguely close to hand would be Scottish Rowing. But I don't know how much focus they have on indoor rowing. You may want to try getting in touch with them - see if they can help (every time I get in touch, I seem to be complaining about something, so probably not best for me to ask!)
Other than that, it's a trawl through the record books / internet / forums to try to work this out!

Re: Scottish Indoor Champs Results
Blimey, That John is fast ...
Thanks for all the positive messages - It was a great event, good to have a bit of a chinwag with John once I could breathe again and my 1k was a substantial PB for me so I'm well pleased with that.
As John said, I did the 500 in the afternoon & managed to take the win for that one. I only had one other competitor in that one but it was another PB for me although only by .1s so I'm pleased with that one too.
I'm hoping they post the splits up as I was down to something like 1:28s towards the end of the 1k in my futile attempt to catch John, not sure I could have done any more !

Final results finally posted.
That was a hellava 500 Guy!! I'm amazed you still had that in you after the 1K battle we had. I was luck to make it to the pub alive!!

Re: Scottish Indoor Champs Results
Ooh, they've also updated the records page:
http://www.scottish-rowing.org.uk/index.php/records
Hopefully photos will get posted soon, and there will be a couple of shots to add into this thread too. Next thing to try to do is convince Concept2 to change my manual entry to a verified one - as the Scottish Rowing people don't do it.

Some photos now at:
https://duncolm.smugmug.com/Rowing
Going by the faces I'm pulling I must have been trying
The 500 was a bit of a fly & die, all seemed to be going fine but then the previous 1k really kicked in. I have to say I was a bit of a wreck for the rest of the weekend !
