Decent Rowing training plans

Post by Recess »

So the folks over at Decent Rowing are doing a deal on 13 training plans. For the sake of $10 it's probably worth a punt. I'll let you know how I get on with them if I get them. But here's a sample that they provide:

The sample looks good. Nice and clear. Let us know how the other ones turn out.

So it's certainly more focussed on the OTW rower than a goofball like me killing myself on an erg, but does make for interesting reading. If I could find something purely aimed at 2k improvement I'd be happier, but this will be a good way to get my own focus back I think.

They're all PDFs, so I could easily post them on here - but I won't - as they're only $10 and it's good to support people trying to make a living I think.

Looks similar to Rojabo (sessions with varying rates), which may be worth checking out if you want a personalised training plan aiming to improve your 2k.

Greg had done a review of the site somewhere (cant think where now) but essentially it can be tricky to get the tests right when setting up the programme, but I was surprised how accurate it was in predicting my 2k score from the test ergs I did, and it certainly got me fit in the 2-3 months I was using it, although I started to see evidence of burnout and underperformance towards the end before I switched to the lactate based training mentioned elsewhere on this forum

Here's the Rojabo Thread: viewtopic.php?f=7&t=2947&hilit=rojabo

I agree with the thought that a 2 or 3 month stint on Rojabo can be a good way to change up normal training. I think long term it is not a good match for my needs.
