Ooo, that's only a few weeks after the Crash-B's, so hopefully I'll be in form. It only takes 3 hours by train from Glasgow to Manchester, so I'll do it!

Yup, I'm just waiting for rock solid confirmation that it's this date and I'll book a train and hotel room for it.

Out of interest, does this mean no BIRC this year then? Looked like it was December last year, and no notice of anything similar this year. Or is this the equivalent?
Still very new to the whole competition thing. It's been Me vs Me up until now.

There's no BIRC, but there will be a BRIC on 8 February 2015. http://l.facebook.com/l.php?u=http%3A%2 ... uuapz3&s=1hewitt wrote:There is no BIRC. Just been wading through my emails and was surprised and pleased by the BRIC news. Plan to do that as well. Perhaps we should start a separate thread for that though.

Just booked and ordered flight tickets so I´ll be in Manchester Airport on the date at 09:35 am, so hopefully I can compete in some type of event...

Great news . Depending on whether I enter a race (and if so, what time it is), I can maybe pick you up from the airport and take you to the venue.Liefcat wrote:Just booked and ordered flight tickets so I´ll be in Manchester Airport on the date at 09:35 am, so hopefully I can compete in some type of event...

Any more takers for EIRC? - only a couple of weeks before the deadline for entries expires

Can´t find the actual time for the start of the event so decided not to enter a 2k race at EIRC. But will be delighted to see a lot of you racing there

Re: English Indoor Rowing Championships (EIRC) 29th March 20
If I hadn't already paid for a hotel room, I might cancel my entry at this. I think I've torn the muscle on the side of my ribs (Serratus Anterior?) I'm mostly ok normally, but when I row, it gets nasty again. I've already taken a week off, and I'll take the rest of this week away from rowing (just do weights and probably cycling sprints instead) but I realise now that it was when I had this pain in my left side, my continued rowing then made everything disastrous (right before the Scottish Champs).
This one has already curtailed my efforts at the Crash-B's - and it has the potential to do the same before the EIRC's. Hopefully I can get away with resting, then try to use next week to get up to pace again - with a bit of a sharp taper before the event.
Grrrr... it does seem my way that there's always a disaster to be had pre competition... Lots of ibuprofen in the meantime.

Re: English Indoor Rowing Championships (EIRC) 29th March 20
Sorry to hear than John. I hope you are sufficiently recovered to consider taking part on the 29th.
I won't be competing as I have missed the deadline. After my debacle at BRIC, I considered entering EIRC to redeem myself, but I think I'm all raced out at present. Best of luck to everyone taking part.
I got an email from Ryanair about cheap flights and considered going over and back on the day in order to meet up with some fellow team members and cheer you on. but I think United must be playing that day, as the flights are pretty expensive. maybe next year?
Anyway, I still have Madchester to look forward to.

They always leave it until the weekend before to nail down the race time slots. Even on the application it says to wait until the 22nd so I think entrants will be getting letters/e-mails on Monday/Tuesday with the gory details of start times etc.
