XIV Australian Masters Games
In the absence of Tina and Wayne Gallasch, I was the sole representative of FS at today's events in Geelong.
I was up against a longstanding local rival, Dirk Stobbe, in the 500m and 1k. and in two tight races just managed to hold him off by 1.1sec. in the 500m and by 2.9 sec. in the 1k.
Tomorrow, he'll be all out to turn the tables in the 2k and I'll be doing my best to thwart him. I'll let you know what happens.
My times in today's races were: 1:46.2, (an SB), in the 500m. and 3:58.1 in the 1k.

Re: XIV Australian Masters Games
Thanks very much for your support, guys.
Unfortunately I wasn't able to hold off my rival for a third time. We were level half way through the 2k event this morning,
but I ran out of gas and finished with a silver medal in 8:24.6 which was 7.7 secs behind Dirk's time.
We will no doubt be competing against each other next year.

Re: XIV Australian Masters Games
Still a valiant effort there Philip. =D> =D> 7.7s behind shows it was his day and nothing you should be kicking yourself about with "if only".
Onwards and upwards to next year!
