Marathon Training

Post by colini39 »

Hello all,

I am currently training for a Marathon and last weekend I managed 31,000m in 2hrs and 10 mins. Do I need to train any further say 35k or is it good enough to just push the pace a little more?

I am aiming for sub 2hrs 59mins, my PB from 8 years ago.

Thanks

Colin

When are you doing your FM?
A few more 30km or 2 hr sessions should be enough - your pace for 31km looks like it should get you 2:57/2:58 ish so you look to be well on track.

Hi I would say you don't need to push the pace any more as you are on target for a PB but you are still 11 K short, now that is a perfect distance to neg. split the remainder if possible. If you can drop the split by 1 second per 1000m over that last 10k you should be more than happy with that. Good luck

I am going to do it in my house in Liverpool.
I was planning on December at first, but I am thinking of moving it to October,as I am ahead in my training.

I will be doing it for a charity, Injured Bomb disposal soldiers.
