ELM updated for the better...

Post by Thomas W-P »

...and I hope I can claim partial credit. I am sure I was one of many who emailed ELM asking them to separate active and inactive challenges. And they have done it.

JUST after I deleted two from the "fun" league

I thought you had deleted them to ensure I couldnt be top of the points table
Actually that might explain the inability to find the ELM website earlier this afternoon.

It's good...so perhaps we don't need to trash it at the end of the month after all...it's easy to navigate now??

Yes it is easier to see what is going on. However I dont believe that was the only issue people had with the ELM. We still have a table of results with some people on 150, 200, 250+ points. This is perhaps still off putting for newer members who may therefore be discouraged from taking part.
I am all for preserving the current table for posterity but I still think we would benefit from greater participation if the table was cleaned up on a regular basis.

I think that we should have a new league every six months. So we do a

"Free Spirits - Jan-June 2007"

Then go all we want and abandon it when the time is up. It will still be there as far as I can tell - and we can then just start a new league.

Quite right

Yes - you are right of course - I had forgotten other issues.

Let's stick to the original plan then - we did say 3 months.

Create a new league Free Spirits 2006 Oct - Dec

The challenges accumulate quite quickly and it doesn't take long to get left behind if you are a new member - waiting 5-6 months is a bit too long I feel.
