Hi all... long time no post
and an equally long time without any signifcant erging
Big hello to old friends
and huge respect to Erik who has kept this thread going almost single-handedly for much of the intervening years
In the last few years, I've spent a lot more time running (with the occasional bit of swimming and cycling thrown in too!), and have been really enjoying the feeling of just heading outside and running
I even got a couple of marathons under my belt, and it was all going so well until I ignored a twinge in the Achilles and did the Snowdon race anyway
Over two months later, and I've done very little running, with a stubborn Achilles problem, combined with Plantar Faciitis, and pain whose location seems more likely to be the flexor retinaculum
An appointment with the podiatrist is on the horizon, and in the meantime, I figured it was time to dust off the old metal mistress
I've done a couple of session pw forthe last few weeks, essentially 30' and 10k sessions. I'm unlikely to do much fast stuff, but the pace is gradually improving currently looking at around 1:51 / 1:52 for the 30'/10k respectively (weight sitting around 85kg at the moment, so very much a "middleweight"
)
Not sure how long I'll be erging, but likely to be a few times pw for the next few weeks, and hoping to maintain at least a session or two pw thereafter. I can't promise to be posting here regularly, but thought it'd be rude not to look in and say hi
