I tried the ELM Cheops today
It was the first pyramid row I've ever done
It is 11K - Pyramid of 1k, 2k, 5k, 2k, 1k. Rest 30sec/1min/1 min/30sec. Combined time including rests
It's a good workout, people should give it a shot
In the PM3, go to the Interval (incorrect name) menu, and select the final option.
I noticed a bug in the PM3 software after doing it, the bug was that at the end it showed 10K rather then 11K.
Have others found this bug themselves ? .
First I thought maybe it's not reading my final 1K, but then realised that was not the case as the 1K time was added in . And the Average split confirmed this .
I did the splits in
03:34.8 - 07:12.1 - 18:19.9 - 07:16.8 - 03:35.4
These add up to 39:59.0, the rower had a total of 39:58.9
It also added the momentum meters during the 4 rests, which I thought was a bit odd
33m - 21m - 24m - 18m
All my splits were under 1:50 pace (just nosed it on the 5K, the rest by a good bit), but a 10K at 39:58.9 would have a pace of about 1:59.9 which was the av pace of the screen
Moral of the story, you should probably bring a pen and paper, and add the times up yourself in excel afterwards

Pyramids
Here is Stockholm calling. I'm stuck here until tomorrow because all flights out are booked tonight.
I use pyramids a lot and posted the Cheops. Apart from anything else it's good mentally.
Our team mate Gillian Tait has a 16k version which is 1k/2k/3k/4k/3k/2k/1k. Tried that and it's tough. She does this nearly every day when she's using the rower. Respect.
I also have a version called the Giza. This is 500m - 30 sec rest - 1k - 30r - 500m - 45r - 2k - 60r - 500m - 45r - 1k - 30r - 500m - 90r - 5k.
This is again 11k. I find the last 5k a monster after the quicker bits. Have to confess to not having done one for a year though.
Given the congestion on the ELM board I am resisting putting this up until we need warming up in the winter.
Great 500 time by the way.

Ditto
I also had the bug and got pencil & paper out!
First pyramid I've done - it's horrible - so probably very good for me.
I was wise enough to do the first 1k and 2k relatively sedately, then push it!
