Thanks Thomas, after yesterdays PB it's now 18 points, I update my PB's in ELM immediatly, so I never get negatives .

I've beat Derrylad at a HM

Now I know that Rob took it easy on his, and I bust a gut on mine, but I beat Rob on a HM :D :D

The current deletions have hurt Rob and ChrisB pointwise more then me, I'm currently at the top of the points board, +1 ahead of ChrisB, +19 ahead of Rob

That was red rag to a bull then. Rob sent me his RowPro report for his 1/2 marathon today. Think I'll hang up my oars!

Too many challenge?

Post by chang chi »

I think that the challenges are fun and they totally motivates me to do better.
I am as one mention in overtraning and I have to look after myself. My arms are aching and I can not row very fast at this moment.

I also think that there, as in athletics, should be a challenge for men and one for women. And maybe one for high- and lowweights.

As it is now, the women will always get the lower points, and that is not motivating.
But then again I don´t think that the women think of motivation-factors as men do.
They are maybe driven by other factors. What do I know?

I have not taken my challenge down yet ,but if nobody will try out I will.
I have allready promise not to do more challenges.

But I don´t think there are too many.
Look at the other teams, they do not have such activity as we.
I just think that ELM works for our team.
I love it!

sincerely yours

Hi Mikkel and welcome to the forum. I do not think anybody is saying they do not enjoy the ELM, just that it has become a bit disorganised so we are discussing ways to increase the enjoyment of members and also get more of the Free Spirits team to get involved in the ELM. It was felt that members who have only recently joined may feel too far behind on the points table to want to participate.
As for women and men only challenges - well what do our ladies think?

Stan,

I'll let YOU ask Michelle what she thinks!!
She has already told me once that she doesn'twant female challenges separately -as she can hold her own with some of the men anyway!!!

I'd prefer not separate M/F challanges. I'll compete with whoever is around me M or F!
48yo, weight... let's just say heavyweight & leave it at that.

Hi Stan

Thats right!
But I too was "behind" in the beginning.
I would like to go on, but I also see the problem to newcomers.
