Re: Fantasy Football
I think Sam (Spamuel) organised the team side of it last year. Lets see how many sign up this year. So far I think its just you and me. My first cock up of the season already is in picking my team. Tried experimenting with the auto complete thinking I would be able to keep playing about but no! I am stuck with the team it gave me.

Re: Fantasy Football
OK, I've signed up to defend my Free Spirits title (although I'll have more than 1 eye on the fizzy pop league this year )
Just need the league code, if there is one.

Re: Fantasy Football
It's a small consololation Stan as my real football team have slipped into the third tier and may even go out of business completely this summer.
Next season we must try and get a bigger number of people in the competition.

Re: Fantasy Football
I am a Saints fan and have been for 45 years now.
Some great times at The Dell and not so great at St Mary's.
Was a Dell season ticket holder with my brother and a few mates for a number of seasons. I count myself blessed to have witnessed Le God play there.
Sadly past glories are not going to help us if we end up in Blue Square South!

My Dad started taking me to see them win the old second division when Terry Paine, Jimmy Melia, John Sydenham were playing.
I saw Martin Chivers make his debut as a 17 year old in 1962, we had great headers of the ball like Ron Davies, saw Micky Channon start in 1966 when he was 17 too, Le Tiss was and is God-happy days eh ?

Re: Fantasy Football
Good work, I'm currently waiting for today's FA cup with trepidation. I'm leading my works Telegraph fantasy League by 21 points. You get a very nice medal and if I scoop top prize I'll pocket £375 [-o<
It will be the only time I'll be cheering Chelsea on in my life!
Mr Hewitt, although I have nothing against Blackburn I gotta say I'm glad Burnley went up, they play good football.

Re: Fantasy Football
Strider my first match at the Dell was as a 6 year old where I saw Terry Paine score twice and we beat Stoke 2-0.
We've had some great players over the years - Paine, Ron Davies, Chivers, David Webb, Channon (I used to clean his boots when I was an apprentice there), Keegan, Osgood, Charlie George, Dave Watson, Shearer (saw his debut hatrick against Arsenal - you listening Mr Gooner?), Danny Wallace, John McGrath, etc.
I maintain though that for pure ability and skill, Le Tiss was a one off. He was often worth the ticket money on his own (and let's face it, sometimes he had to be).
We've had some nutters as well. Jim Steele? Dennis - left back - physco - saw him run 60 yards once to punch somebody.
Happy days
