I'm now officially confused.

The team I see as selected is 4-3-3 with Benayoun in midfield. I moved Noble and brought in the mercurial goal scorer because he might get a game and ... anyway.

The e-mail I ahve today from the website says that this has not happened and still shows a team I had 2/3 games ago!

What is going on?

Had the same issue last week Graham - the emails do not seem to be up to date. When I checked the website everything was as I expected.

I'm giving up on this game.

Checking scores I see that Fabregas scores 8 for Stan and 4 for me, despite the fact that we each have him as captain.

Once again the team I selected was not the one that scored points.

E-mail to the web site just returns gibberish.

What a shambles!

As i continue to sit sadly at the bottom of the league I would like to take this opportunity to sulk and accuse you all of cheating!

Now that the game has been going for a little while, those who are hard of understanding (like me) are slowly getting to grips with it.

As a result I've made some changes to the team and the formation and hopefully will be consolidating my mid table position, just like Saints.

I can't decide if our leaders in the league have just been extremely lucky or are genuinely gifted choosers of talent?

Opinions please?

I think they're at best luck and at worse cheating terribly. But then I would say that wouldn't I.

Seriously if you spend all the money then you'll have a decent team probably with one of Terry, Ferdinand, Vidic. One of Fabregas, Lampard, Ronaldo, Gerrard. And a big name stiker. I think these players over the season will cancel each other out and so it's all about who you spend your change on.

I'm happy to put this down to luck, as I'm low down in the league although there are always a couple of bargins to be had.

Probably right on the big names.

Fabregas has scored more goals this season than the last three combined but how long will that last.

Defenders should come from those who let in least. Apart from the big 4, have a look at Villa and any team with a new manager like Wigan.

Strikers are just maddening. In form, then out, then in. I've gone for an established 20 goals a season man in Rooney, a middling bet in a good team - Adebayor and an outsider in Jones (Sunderland). Hopefully Jones will be sold to a good team in January.

Midfielders like Reo-Coker are good. He is captain so always plays if fit. Defenders playing in midfield are good as well. Eboue for the Arse and Bale for Spurs.

Still annoying though when your team loses at home, in the last minute, against 10 men!

Total luck in my case. I know next to nothing about football - as shown by my support for Man City - still getting altitude sickness from watching their league position this season. I seem to be returning to my proper place gradually - at one stage I was in the top 100000 players but have now slipped to about 250000. It took me 3 weeks to realise Schmeicel wasnt playing for City anymore - I still have absolutely no idea why Erikson has dropped him :? Anyway I swapped to Hart as my goalkeeper and he promptly lets Chelski score 6

Defnitely luck, or bad luck, involved somewhere.
I've started to take a look at this every couple of weeks or so, and my results are very slowly improving. Terrible defence for me at the moment, but no money to do anything about it!

Wolfie, you can still shuffle your team to release cash to buy players. It just costs you a few points that your new signings will undoubtedly make up very quickly.

If you look at the transfer history of the teams in the top couple of hundred, they are making changes more or less every week. They must manage their teams daily whereas I do mine about once a fortnight!

Oh to have the time (but if we did have the time I suspect that we'd be rowing!)

Up to mid table with a stunning 61 points.

After all we said about the importance of 'lesser' players' Captain marvel Ronaldo was worth 30 points Ferdinand and Risse chiped in with clean sheets and the others got about one point each.

As I said, it's all about big name players from the major clubs...

:( :?

Bl00dy miserable week.

My real team gets creamed 5-0.

My fantasy team are complete rubbish and I'm bottom of the league.

Time for some radical surgery.

What is this Fantasy Cup thing?

My team is apparently still in it but I don't know if I have to do anything?

Anyone doing the Telegraph Fantasy League?? Currently got 926 points. In a league with 24 others. Each month we have a prize for manager of the month, luckily I have scooped the prize twice and got nearly £150!!!!

Am thinking of applying for the Newcastle vacancy.

Its not vacant anymore Neil. It would appear that the Newcastle chairman has once more given in to the demands of the fans and given them what they want - what a wimp. Listening to fans! Whatever next?

Finger on the pulse stan, nice to see. KK as manager :D As you pointed out nothing more than keeping the fans happy. Once the emotion has worn off Newcastle will be in a worse position than before. I am still willing to assist in a cosultancy capacity :D

Hmm shows how much I know. A remarkable recovery from KK.

Looks like Wolfie is the runaway winner with this seasons fantasy football, closely followed by Sam. Well done chaps.

Nice one Neil. I'm in a league with about 35 others but this season my team has been dire. I've hardly seen any British football at all so my interest in the TFF has plummeted. A shame as I won our league a couple of times in the past few seasons.
Might do some subs tonight although its probably not worth it now, seeing as my team is 135,000th. :?

I'm still hopeful of making a late run for European qualification and snatching third from Stan.

Are we going to do a Fantasy cricket?

Off the to first test in a couple of weeks as well - can't wait!

Well I held on to 3rd spot despite not having a goal keeper - had not realised David James was injured and thank goodness Hart was not responsible for that 8-1 hammering City received on Sunday. Finished in the top third overall which is the best I have ever done in a fantasy league.
Congratulations to Wolfie on winning the title of top Free Spirit manager.

Well done Stan. Made me chuckle, I'd not realised Hart wasn't playing. I have him as well!

Well done Wolfie, I like to think I gave you a run for your money (not that I remember putting money on this). And comiserations on the Brum relegation, Birmingham may be run on porn money, although Man City have showed they're are worse places to get money from, but at least they were a proper club with proper supporters.

No ones gonna miss Reading and I wouldn't miss Fulham, I want proper clubs in the Premier League not Weird ego maniacs with big cheque books.

 Thanks Sam, made me smile.
I could go on and on about the state of the club. However I'll just mention two things; 1- The owners run the club properly, as a business. Say what you like about their background, and the potential huge personal investments they could make to the club, but I've been generally very pleased and impressed with the way they have run the place for the past 15 years. I'd rather be where we are now, where there's a case to argue against under investment, than where Leeds, Forest, Southampton, Liecester, Coventry, Sheff Wed etc etc are.
2 - I was appalled at some of the so called Blues fans behaviour during and after the game on Sunday. I'm ashamed to be associated with mindless idiots who pour vitriol at the directors box and vandalise their own ground!! I'm much happier playing golf on Saturday afternoons these days.
Look forward to next seasons fantasy football league.
