Something a Little Different

I haven't been rowing much lately - super-busy at work as my upcoming retirement looms (11/1), and I"m trying to train my replacement who is trying to hire his replacement.... back to my summer mountain-biking, and a couple days a week of lifting. So, I'm not quite a slouch, but I do miss the regular rows...
Anyway, it's not rowing, but I did do something a bit different and unusual this past Friday. Feel free to check out the 4 minute video I made. I think some of you will get a kick out of it:

Wow! That would be the stuff of nightmares for me. I’ve no head for heights. Well done Ron!

It was a fundraiser event. I was sitting quietly at home one day last May when I got an email from the charity organization (United Way) that I've supported for years. It immediately intrigued me, and I signed up that day. Nearly 3 months later, and the deed is done... It was quite a rush!!
I do get a little red-faced when I hear myself talk on film. I definitely carry many local dialect issues around that I don't notice in normal conversation...

Congratulations Ron!
We did not notice any "local dialect issues". In fact, it did seem a "normal conversation", at least for rappelling down a ginormous building. We were waiting for you to take those two story at a time jumps.

Thanks, Peter & Ann! I think the young woman up top that was doing the training said it best; "This is a sightseeing rappel, not a Mission Impossible rappel." In the days leading up to it, I had visions of pushing off the building and trying not to hurt myself or the building when I pendulumed back into the windows...
