Boston Mass and Lyman Maine

Post by webberg »

Hello.

My wife and I + "kids" (18 and 21) will be Lyman Maine in late August this year for our eldest sons' wedding.

We arrive around 22nd, wedding 25th and we then stay for a few days before going to Boston and perhaps explore New York State a while.

Any Free Spirits in that area?

There used to be a competition where points were scored for how many FSers you could see. I forget the detail of the rules but something like 1 point for seeing them on your turf and 2 points for seeing them on their turf.

If that is still running, anxious to start climbing that board as well!

I think that competition has long since lapsed into ancient history but It might be interesting to see it resurrected. I'd have a heck of a job playing catch up with all the points I've not claimed though.

Re Boston - not sure who's there who's actually active though. Emily Sarat was our resident Bostonian but I don't think she's been on an erg in 5 years plus...

Graham,

We are between Albany and Saratoga Springs in New York, which would be a good base for you to explore eastern New York State. We have room at our house. However, if the 21 year old is not the one you are marrying off, they might have to share a room.

If you want to restart a FS "meeting competition", (rather than another resurrection), we could both get a head start. That way, we and Plummy would not have to do a lot of remembering!

I think we'd be doing Plummy a favour because at his age all that remembering must be difficult?
