The only movies I can think of that fit that description are The Jungle Book and 101 Dalmations, but I can't imagine that line coming from either of those movies. I'm pretty sure it's not in the Jungle Book as I've seen that a few times.plummy wrote:First clue - the original was animated (1960's) and the remake was live action (1990's)

Ok. If you want a guess, them I'll go for 101 Dalmations (because I'm pretty sure it's not (The Jungle Book). It kinda sounds like the sort of think someone might say to Cruella da Vil.

I figured it was a reference to the Daily Planet, where Clark Kent and Lois Lane worked. It felt like it should be the right answer. Or was the Daily Planet in the Spider-Man movies?plummy wrote:Close!!

Re: Name that Film
The answer I was looking for was Man of Steel so well done Strider. Stan's guess was very good and I 100% understand why he went for it but the Independence Day dialogue is as follows:
Captain Steven Hiller: [walking toward crashed alien plane] THAT'S RIGHT! THAT'S RIGHT! That's what you get! Look at you, ship all *banged* up! Who's the man? Huh? Who's the man? Wait till I get another plane! I'm-a line all your friends up right beside you!
Captain Steven Hiller: [climbs on top of alien plane] Where you at, huh? Huh? Where you at?
Captain Steven Hiller: [Hiller opens the spaceship. An alien pops up, and Hiller punches it in the head, knocking it back into the ship]
Captain Steven Hiller: Welcome to earth!
Captain Steven Hiller: [sits on alien plane and puts cigar in mouth] Now that's what *I* call a close encounter.
...and therefore gets my vote as one of the most disappointing and stupid films ever despite huge promise when I saw it advertised

That was my initial thought, then I thought it didn't sound right for that movie. (Which means that plummy is probably right and I'm talking through my **** as usual. )plummy wrote:Kingpin?
Anyway, for some reason, the movie that comes to mind is The Big Lebowski. And I don't know if it even features ten pin bowling.

You may be right Paul. I've only seen TBL once and it was years and years ago but I'm sure there's a central bowling theme in there
