Very annoyingly, and embarrassingly, I can't even think of 1 song!

I am not sure what will help, so I will try this:

"It's getting to the point where I'm no fun anymore
I am sorry
Sometimes it hurts so badly I must cry out loud
I am lonely

I am yours, you are mine, you are what you are
You make it hard"

Hi Peter

I think you've managed to stump everyone. Maybe time to put up another one?

Paul, it is sweet of you to give me another "stump point ", and I certainly don't want to make anyone blue. 8) If no one gets the song soon, I will put up another.

Well, it seems no one remembers Suite Judy Blue Eyes.

I will wait and see who remembers this one:

"and I wonder if I'm really with you now"

ps: This is my first post ever from Quito, Ecuador.

Yes. 7:25 am here, bus to the airport in 5 minutes. Fly to Batra, then a week on the Silver Galapagos. We are traveling with cousins on a hundred passenger luxury expedition ship.

Sounds fantastic, Peter. Enjoy!

Song seems vaguely familiar, but I can't place it right now. Maybe it will come to me later.

Thanks Paul. Walking and snorkeling at Bahia Darwin, Genovesa Island today. Saw lots of red-footed and nacra boobies. Do not know how to resize photos, so you do not get to see them.

I will "eagerly await" your answer.

Sounds amazing!

Is "eagerly await" a clue? The Eagles, perhaps?

Yes. No.

Well, that did not seem to help!

More lyrics:

"We can never know about the days to come,
but we think about them anyway. "

We are back in the States, at cousins in Florida, so still one-finger typing on the phone.

WRT this tune, it looks like déja vue all over again. (No, not a hint.)
The song was a "commercial" success, so hopefully someone will "catch-up". (Yes, a hint.)

And, more lyrics:
"But I, I rehearsed those words just late last night,
When I was thinking about how nice tonight might be."

Hi Peter

I gave up and googled the lyrics. I don't know this song at all and I don't think I've ever heard it before now, although I do know the singer (and even bought one of her albums), but her first (and biggest) hit this side of the Atlantic was a year after the song in question. I love that particular song by the way, and I know it resonates with you and Ann for a particular reason!

Paul

Does no one else remember the ketchup commercial that featured this song? I saw it recently.

Paul, we will be home in Saratoga tonight, and will post another tune, if no one comes to the rescue by then.

As a bonus extra, this timely tune, which will also earn the next turn:

"..... Walla Walla Wash and Kalamazoo,
Nora's freezing on the trolley,
Swaller dollar cauliflower alagaroo"

Peter, like Paul, I gave up and Googled... found out I really like the song and the artist, but apparently don't know many of the lyrics! :D

Listened a little more closely (in my, ahem, older age), and appreciated the song more than ever.

P.S. I have no idea what that last bit of gibberish you posted is!

And now the title you were all (except Paul and Ron) eagerly waiting for:

Anticipation by Carly Simon.

The gibberish, as Ron so charitably called it, is Deck Us All With Boston Charlie, from the cartoon Pogo.

One more try, from a song you all have heard [-o< ](*,) :-#

"And if she's beside me I know I need never care"

Paul, both Ann and I know this one, but neither of us want the responsibility of choosing another song. I will come to your rescue if no one else gets it soon. :(

Thanks. I’ll offer a clue in the hopes this might get you off the hook.

This song was recorded by an act with three names in continuation of the recent spate of such songs. Although it’s probably more identified with the singer who wrote it.

Correct! Written by John Denver, who also had a hit with it, but the Peter, Paul & Mary version was the first to hit the charts. Your turn, sir!

Awesome! Thanks for the trivia - I'd completely forgotten about the Denver version...

Admittedly, this one's a bit of a reach - probably either know it from this line, or you just don't know it... :D

Fun song from the skating rink in the early 80's...
