More lyrics and a few clues:

It isn't you, isn't me
Search for things, that you can't see
Going blind out of reach
Somewhere in the ........

Before this American Rock Band ( 3 words make up their name ) formed in 1989, they were called Mighty Joe Young.

It's Vasoline ( Stone Temple Pilots )

Try this one:

I love the way you walk
I love the way you walk

It's not Suzy Q, since that would be:

I love the way you walk
I love the way you talk 8-[

You are correct Peter, it isn’t Suzy Q.

The writer and singer of the song ( released in 1956 ) was known to occasionally change the lyrics slightly, so that sometimes he would sing:

I love the way you walk
I’m crazy ‘bout your walk

When I first heard this song ( think I was about ten or eleven ) I was hooked.💘

It was Dimples - the original version was of course by John Lee Hooker - thought that my " hooked " clue might have helped.

Despite my initial optimism, I think PaulG was probably correct when he said, " I think this thread has died. " Or more like, has been given the last rites. :fswink:

I'll pass on putting up another and leave it to someone else to give this thread the kiss of life. :fswink:

I think the reason this thread struggles is finding the balance between "that's way too obvious" and "I've never even heard of the band, let alone the song or the lyrics". I would suggest that if it wasn't a "hit" (and even that brings its issues as it depends which country it was/was not a "hit" in) it should be avoided. I heard this on the radio a few days ago and thought "that would be a good line, someone will get that":

Do your dance, do your dance, do your dance quick, mama!

Word Up - Cameo

I think Plummy's dead on - even after hearing the answers, I didn't recognize 3 of the last 4 songs. I knew "Smoke on the Water", but didn't recognize the lyrics quickly. I still check the thread every few days... :)

Just odd looks from me.... :D

I even Googled it and was less than satisfied with the results....

And on that note, next up:

Yes - All Out Of Love.

Their most tragic song of many I think.

Though I must confess I do like the song "Making Love out of Nothing At All" - though I think that was a Jim Steinman composition

Guilty pleasure is too nice a term...

Their songs were everywhere and, unfortunately, burned into my brain as a result.

It is! Not sure if it was a hit outside the UK but it was a huge one hit wonder here if I remember. All yours

Just my "outside the UK" response, but looking at Wolfie's post, I do not know which is the title and which is the singer.

Also, jumping in late to the discussion about continuing this thread, the problem I see is not that the song maybe obscure (no one has actually used the word about some of my selections; thanks for being polite) but that when a song is not identified in a timely manner, the thread just sits there for weeks. It works better when the original poster comes back in a few days and provides more clues, and then identifies the song and tries another.

I could "Help You Plummy (get Rhonda out of your head)".

But, this one is Fun Fun Fun ('till her daddy takes the T-Bird away).

Both by The Beachboys.

BTW, I was thinking that, considering my knowledge base, I prefer to play "name that oldie". #-o

I was going to post an easier (maybe?) line from this song, but then decided to use this line first. Hopefully, not too big a mistake. [-o<
