Line one rings a bell (not the others) as maybe Shallow by Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper

As I can't usually think of what to use for lyrics I just take lines from whatever is on the radio at the time I read the post (as long as it's something vaguely well known). So here goes with the latest:

She's a very kinky girl,
The kind you don't take home to mother

As a first clue, these are the opening lines

I'm back in the saddle again! (Aerosmith, but those aren't my lyrics!) :D

Up next:

I was wrong,
Now I find,
Just one thing makes me forget

Time for some clues for this super-easy one... :D

Originally released in 1967 by an American singer-songwriter and received a somewhat tepid reception. However, was remade in 1983 by an English pop band and hit #1 in the US and UK (and others).

I was wrong,
Now I find,
Just one thing makes me forget

Not Eurythmics... here's some more lyrics...

All I can do, I've done
But memories won't go
No, memories won't go
....
I was wrong,
Now I find,
Just one thing makes me forget

83, English pop band, cover of a US song ... so band guesses, Soft Cell, Depeche Mode, Human league (don't think they had a hit with a cover), Duran Duran (ditto). Two of the lines remind me of U2, but they are Irish of course. Yes, I'll be kicking myself on this one...

I'm like you Wolfie - I think I know it but just can't place it - making it a good one Draggon ! It's the 3rd line that's doing my head in...

The band has not been named yet, but here's another (giveaway) clue.

Try reading the lyrics with a reggae beat in your head... :)

Thanks Ron - like a few others, I spent days wracking my brain over this one.

Here's the next one :

arrgggh, Brummie (local) band too!! I know why I didn't recognise it though. I really, really, really, didn't like the song at all! So obliviously shut it out of my brain :D

Ok - American band 90's, still active - frontman's initials JH(not Jimi Hendrix).

Seems like this thread has died -

If anyone is interested, it is "Unforgiven" by Metallica.

Paul, although I am a fan of Metallica, Unforgiven is one of their songs that I have never liked so consequently never listen to.

There is such a wide range of music out there that it's not always easy to think of a song that might be familiar to most of us. Therefore, why don't you give us another chance and put up another one.
