First clue - it's based on the theme from a mid 80's film (with a very famous musical score composer)

So nothing to do with The Godfather then ...
An Ennio Morricone score perhaps ?

Godfather - no
Ennio Morricone score - yes.
Jeremy Irons was the "star" in the film

OK - let's kill this one. The song is Nella Fantasia (based on the piece of music called Gabriel's Oboe from the theme to The Mission). I particularly like the Russell Watson version but apparently it was Sarah Brightman who converted it from soundtrack score to a song...
So - here's a new one that shouldn't last long:
"...Willi is happy again"

Def Leppard
(at least in my head...

Alright, this wasn't supposed to be a stumper.
First clue - it was a play off of Wolfie's lyrics...

Hmmm... if these extra lyrics don't give it away, I'll begin wondering if I'm suddenly living in an alternate dimension...
So I took a big chance at the high school dance

Is that "Walk this way" by Aerosmith and Run DMC? The lines just posted look and sound right.

Close enough!
The one with (part of) Aerosmith & Run DMC was the 1986 remake of Aerosmith's 1975 original from the Toys in the Attic album.
Your turn, sir!
