Wolfie, here are some more lines to like. :D

"Little hotel, older than Hell,
Dark as the coal in the mine.
Blanket so thin, I lay there and grin,"

Oh well.

I thought that this song was a bit later, but it is from the 1960s. Still, many of us were listening to music then, and others have access to recordings!

In addition to various American folk, rock, and country singers, it was recorded by Irish, English, and even Danish (in Danish) singers.

It does not look like this is going well. #-o

One last try, with some of the chorus: [-o<

"when you gonna let me get sober
Leave me along, let me go home
I wann'a go back and start over."

It looks like we need the first line of the chorus:

"Bottle of wine, fruit of the vine"

As I said before, the title of the song is in the first line of the chorus.

If you need a clue, it is not "fruit of the vine".

Even based on the last clue, everyone is too proud to identify "Bottle of Wine ".

I do not want another turn, so I really hope someone rescues me soon!

We watched the movie this next song comes from in our suite, and the piano musician on board played it.

"She gets too hungry for dinner at eight. "

Extra crossover points for naming the film. :^o

Dear Mr Plummy ( The Pedant ),

That is correct but as it is Halloween and I am now hanging upside down from the branch of a tree ... and I know where you live ... then I say it is Peter's turn. Unless of course ... Peter says otherwise.🦇🎃

And he is correct by the rules.

You should know by now that I am always correct ;-) ;-) Mrs P will attest to that fact (as long as she says it's ok for me to say so)

My Italian song repertoire is limited to La Dame I mobile, and Il pinto de blu. The quote is not from Verdi.

Bobby Rydell liked the title Volare.

Of course, if I am totally off base, Ron can enjoy the antics!

I cannot speak Italian but I think that sogno is dream and libere is probably to do with free or freedom ( liberty )?

Wild connections here but like many people, I know the basic outline of some popular operas. In La Traviata, the heroine ( whose name escapes me ), wants to leave her old life and start afresh. She sings a well known aria, which was requested occasionally on Two Way Family Favourites. I have the tune in my head but I cannot think of the title. Or am I also way of base?
