Ron, I am not going to say you are wrong, but I was thinking of the original version by Five Man Electrical Band!

Yes, this is one of those songs... Popular. Catchy lyrics, but elusive title. I didn't resist posting some of the most well-known lyrics (the chorus? Refrain?) from the song as I knew you would either know it, or you wouldn't. The title of the song only appears once; buried deep in the lyrics of the opening verse. Here's the rest of the section I posted:

I want to stand with you on a mountain.
I want to bathe with you in the sea.
I want to lay like this forever.
Until the sky falls down on me

Feels like it should be a Savage Garden track, but I'm stuck on those lyrics now....

I came up with Savage Garden whilst driving yesterday so I think we've cracked the band. Unfortunately there's no points for the band...:-(

Need for clarification of the rules:
Is it now okay to play through all my CDs to find the title?
Is it allowed to go through Spotify (as I do not buy any new CDs anymore) and search through there WITHOUT typing the title or any words quoted from the lyrics??

Just asking as it drives me mad to know the song but not coming up with the title :-)

I'm really not sure, but at the very least it might edge us all closer!

Nicely done, Gents! Ian has pinned it. It was nice to put one up that was challenging yet achievable! :)

I figured this thread had gone quiet so was going to ask for a clue - then re-read the lines...

Is it "You do something to me" - Paul Weller of course

Not much of a Paul Weller fan but you picked about the only line I recognised. OK - here's one that shouldn't last long:

Tell her I'll be waiting
In the usual place

More words and a clue:

Tell her I'll be waiting
In the usual place
With the tired and weary
There's no escape

Just from the clue ... Phil Collins ? Even if that is correct the only song I can guess is 'In the Air tonight', and it doesn't feel right...

Good guess but not correct. The lines are the first lines of the song (and when you know the answer you'll think "why the heck didn't I get that")
