Okay, so no one else wants to keep this moving?

Butterfly Hurricane?

Butterfly Typhoon?

Butterfly Blizzard?
This almost sounds plausible.

Thanks, Ron, but I just followed Carole"s clues and put in words until she said "enough!."

The Name That Film thread is dead, but you made me think of Myrna Loy telling William Powell "I'm glad you're not a detective".
Extra points for naming that one.

Back to songs:

"Do you know what it's like on the outside?"

Not a clue. Maybe it’s time to put us out of our misery and post another song?

Paul, it's been less than one day. We have recently had a week between posts.

My song is by a non-US group, and charted in many countries.

Peter, is your film quote " I'm glad you're not a detective " from The Thin Man?

Many moons ago I enjoyed watching the film ( which was repeated a few times ) and the series which also starred William Powell and Myrna Loy, although I cannot remember the name of their small white dog who was similar in looks to Tintin's Snowy.

No ideas about the song though.

Hi Jill, yes it is a Thin Man quote. Embarrassingly, I do not remember exactly which one. I think it was The thin Man Goes Home. I do remember William Powell's subsequent expression, which is the closing shot.

Astor the Wonder Dog did not get many lines. :-k

Of course, Astor; thank you Peter although I must admit that I cannot remember any of the storylines after all this time.

I have always loved the women's fashions of that era. So chic.

The complete official title is New York Mining Disaster 1941. Also known as Have you seen my wife, Mr. Jones?

Richard again suggests correctly. Go Team Underwood!

Sorry Peter, that comment was addressed to Carole. I must have been about a page behind on the thread. I blame it on all the Portuguese wine I’ve been drinking over the past two weeks.

Paul, I thought you might have been addressing Carole.

Don't blame it on the wine if you have not been drinking enough of it! [-X

Ann is correct about the song. :) =D>

However, she is incorrect about the sheet music, which is not The Sound of Silence but John Cage's 1952 composition, 4' 33 which is also known as, four minutes and thirty three seconds of silence - or more precisely, of audience in three movements.

Over to you Peter. :)

While waiting for Ann to come up with the next song, I beg to differ about the sheet music we posted. [-X

All the images I found for John Cage's work have roman numerals for the movements, and almost all are "written" on double-staffs.

Playing the pieces from the sheet music would sound the same, thought.

Touché Peter.

I had checked out the sheet music for 4'33 beforehand and realised that it wasn't strictly blank but Ann's answer was very funny and therefore I couldn't resist. Mine was meant to be tongue in cheek, hence the wink.

And, on those rare occasions when I am being serious, I try to so indicate by including "but seriously". #-o
