Ah, I had incorrectly assumed that tune would have travelled across the pond well.

The minute I saw it, the next line came into my head. But it took me about another 30 minutes with it rolling around my head before I got the title.Wolfmiester wrote: ↑Tue Jan 19, 2021 2:28 pm Very good Paul (I tried to pick one that Peter could guess at, but you were too quick )
I’m going to try to find a song that was a hit both sides of the pond and that hasn’t been asked already.

OK. I think this satisfies the above criteria.
Is this my beginning or is this the end?

Thanks Steve. It did occur to me that I should wait until this afternoon in order to give our American friends a chance.

Sure is. Not sure what degree of longitude Peter is on, but perhaps he's busy applauding Mr Biden in to his new home today.

With regard to the current song, I was wondering when would I 'hear it' again.

Re: Name that tune
I can see that you all know it, but I detect a degree of reluctance on the part of the three of you to name that tune. Will I have to wait forever?

Thank you Paul.

There is a very up to date connection between the title of this song and the Advertising Standard Agency.

Baby, back
Dressed in black
Silver buttons all down her back
High hose, tippy toes
She broke the needle and she can sew
Big 1963 hit in America - number 10 on their 100 Top Billboard for several weeks.
Covered by many groups including the Rolling Stones.
The British government were made to remove a misleading radio advert about joggers, and an activity which involved certain members of the public and their pets. To begin with, I thought it was a spoof advert, but apparently not.

I've just watched and listened to the Rolling Stones version on YouTube. I don't remember ever hearing it before. Can't believe how young they all look.Jill wrote: ↑Sun Jan 24, 2021 9:30 am

Re: Name that tune
I meant to say nice clues. The title is certainly guessable based on those clues.

I had been reading some comments on a website when a contributor posted a link there about the radio advert and after listening to it, this version of the song by the Rolling Stones, immediately came to mind, Okay, okay, I know, when this was released, some of you would have still been chewing on your Farley's rusks.
I don’t think that anymore clues will help, so I had better come clean then.

Re: Name that tune
Time for a clue. The song was used in an action adventure film in the mid 80s. There was a video of the song released with the three stars of the movie as backing singers dressed in white suits.
