Thanks Steve
I don't think this one has been asked before.
You were only waiting for this moment to arise

Re: Name that tune
Thank you gentlemen. I hope you and your families had a good Christmas, and hoping for a better New Year for all of us.
A futile addition to the lyrics:
"Well I saved my pennies and I saved my dimes
For I knew there would be a time"
I have an idea for a further, ultimate, hint that will follow on Monday.

Re: Name that tune
I never said it was a good idea, , but here goes:
"Well I saved my pennies and I saved my dimes (giddy up, giddy up 409)
For I knew there would be a time (giddy up, giddy up 409)
When I would buy a brand new 409 (409, 409)"
The lyrics in parenthesis are background vocals.
This song was said to have started a new genre.

Re: Name that tune
Does the number 409 appear in the title of the song, by any chance???

Re: Name that tune
Paul, that would be the entirety of the title of the song by the Beach Boys about a car with a 409 cubic inch engine, and also "four speed, dual quad [and] positraction".Paul Victory wrote: ↑Tue Dec 29, 2020 8:18 pm Does the number 409 appear in the title of the song, by any chance???

Re: Name that tune
Good job we have some heavy clues then
So either Little Duce Coop, or the T-Bird song... but I still wouldn’t know which.

Re: Name that tune
I think that's the second time I accidentally got a song title correct on this thread! Mind you, there were some heavy hints.

Re: Name that tune
Time for a hint. The original version of this song was not in English and the non English version was a hit in the US, whereas the English version (by the same artists) was a hit in the UK and Ireland.

Re: Name that tune
Another hint. The title of this song has something in common with the previous song.

Good morning Paul.
I have just read out all your clues to Richard and he said, " Could it be, 99 Red Balloons? "

Indeed, Richard is right. Over to you two - please decide among yourselves which one of you is going to post the next set of lyrics.

Thank you Paul.
Richard has decided ( voluntarily of course ) that ' she who must be obeyed ' must be obeyed.
Over to me then.

A clue - this was sung as a swansong.
